TIMOTHY 1:8-12
“So
do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord…”
2Timothy 1:8
Observing her, in spite of
her eighty years, when she attends the Sunday services and during the
weeknights, is a motive of inspiration and increases our faith. She walks
upright and her step is sure, because she knows in whom she has believed. She never hesitates when it comes to
praying during worship. She
participates in bible studies when others are hesitant or silent. In the last
few years, neither shortages nor poverty have diminished her faith. She lives by herself in a modest house
and helps her neighbors as much as she is able. Her lifestyle supports the
testimony of her lips.
Intimate communion with the Teacher is one of the
highest privileges of the Christian life. Coming to know Christ through word
and deed is a work of love that belongs to each Christian. A spiritual life
such as this is a greater blessing than mere human wisdom, and it is better
preparation for confronting the tests which life brings us.
Prayer: Lord,
help us to know you better each day and to contribute to the realization of
your plans through our daily actions. Amen.

“Por tanto, no te avergüences
de dar testimonio de nuestro Señor…”
2Timoteo 1:8
Observarla,
a pesar de sus casi ochenta años, cuando viene a los servicios religiosos el
domingo y durante la semana por las noches, es motivo de inspiración y nos
acrecienta la fe. Camina erguida y
con paso firme, porque sabe en quién ha creído. Jamás vacila cuando se trata de orar en los servicios.
Participa en las clases bíblicas cuando los demás titubean o guardan silencio. Durante los últimos años ni la
escasez ni las limitaciones han disminuido su fe. Vive sola en una modesta casa
y presta cuanto servicio puede a sus vecinos. Su manera de vivir apoya el
testimonio de sus labios.
La comunión íntima con el Maestro
es uno de los más elevados privilegios de la vida cristiana. Dar a conocer a
Cristo por medio de la palabra y la acción, es obra de amor que corresponde a cada cristiano. Una vida
espiritual así, bendice más a una persona que la sabiduría meramente humana, y la prepara mejor
para enfrentarse con las pruebas
que le hayan sido deparadas.
Oración: Señor,
ayúdanos a conocerte cada día mejor y a contribuir a la
realización de tus planes mediante
nuestras acciones cotidianas. Amén.
