RECEIVE THE LORD INTO YOUR HOME

 LUKE 10:38-42

“...a woman named Martha opened her home to him.”

Luke 10:38

There is a story about a boy who was contemplating a famous painting.  He asked his father: “Why doesn’t anyone open the door so that Jesus can go inside?”  The father replied: “I don’t know, son.”  A few moments later, the boy exclaimed: “I know why now, Dad.  It’s because those people live in the basement and they can’t hear when Jesus knocks, that’s why they can’t open their door to him.” 

This is what often occurs.  Christ comes, but we cannot welcome him, because we live in the cellar. We have so many daily preoccupations, so many ambitions of fame and wealth.  We waste so much time with entertainments that keep us from receiving the Lord in our home and enjoying his presence. We don’t have the time to sit at his feet and listen to his words.  The Lord knocks at your door daily to talk with you. Receive him in your home today.  In order for a home to enjoy the peace of God, it needs to have Christ at its center.  What a blessing it is for the members of a family to love and honor God and to enjoy his company!

Prayer: Our Father, come stay in our home.  Accompany us in our daily activities. Strengthen us with your presence. We beseech you in the name of Christ Jesus. Amen.

RECIBE AL SEÑOR EN TU HOGAR

 LUCAS 10:38-42

“...y una mujer llamada Marta le recibió en su casa”

Lucas 10:38

Se cuenta de un niño que contemplaba un cuadro famoso,  se dirigió a su padre y le preguntó: “¿Por qué nadie viene a abrir la puerta para que Jesús entre?” El padre le dijo: “Hijo, no lo sé”. Pasados algunos momentos el niño exclamó: “Ya sé por qué, papá. Es porque esa  gente vive en el sótano  y no pueden oír cuando Jesús llama, por eso no pueden recibirlo en su casa”. Así suele acontecer. Cristo viene, pero no podemos recibirle, porque vivimos en el sótano. Son tantas las preocupaciones diarias, tanta la ambición de la fama, riqueza, tanto tiempo malgastado en diversiones que nos impiden recibir al Señor en nuestro hogar y regocijarnos con su presencia. No tenemos tiempo para sentarnos a sus pies y oír sus palabras. Diariamente el Señor llama a tu hogar para hablar contigo. Recíbelo hoy en tu casa. Para que un hogar disfrute de la paz de Dios necesita tener en su centro a Cristo. ¡Cuánta bendición es que los miembros de una familia amen y honren a Dios y gocen de su compañía!

Oración: Padre nuestro, ven a morar en nuestro hogar. Acompáñanos en las actividades diarias. Fortalécenos con tu presencia. Te lo imploramos en el nombre de Cristo Jesús. Amén.
