SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE MADE KNOWN

LUKE 2:16-19

“When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child…”

Luke  2:17

Have you ever considered all the things you've been told about Jesus? Have you shared them with someone?  Are we perhaps selfish?

We may feel that we are not prepared for this task.  And yet this passage clearly shows us a group of simple shepherds whose only thought was to make known what they had been told about the child. And the result was that all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

This story gives us a clue which seems very important to me:  “So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph and the baby, who was lying in the manger.”  Encountering Jesus was essential and indispensable.  An encounter with the Lord is what will give your life the meaningfulness of pardon.

Summertime is a good time for sharing with others, for making new friends.  Take advantage of the vacation period after an intense effort throughout the year, but it is also the time to consider what these verses from the Gospel have to do with your life.  He has come to the shore; he is looking you in the eyes and calling your name.   Are you going to make known what he is telling you?

Prayer: Lord, give me the strength to be able to follow you and to tell others about the experiences that I have had. Thank you for my new life in you. Amen.

ALGO QUE DEBE SER CONOCIDO

LUCAS 2:16-19

“Al verlo, dieron a conocer lo que

se les había dicho acerca del niño”

Lucas 2:17

¿Has pensado  en cuántas cosas te han dicho acerca de Jesús? ¿Se lo has contado a alguien? ¿Seremos egoístas?

A lo mejor consideramos que no estamos preparados para esa tarea. Lo cierto es que en el pasaje vemos a un grupo de simples pastores que lo único que hacen es dar a conocer lo que se les haba dicho acerca del niño. Y el resultado es que todos los que le oyeron se maravillaron  de lo que los pastores decían.

El relato nos da una clave que me parece muy importante: “Vinieron pues, apresuradamente; y hallaron a María y a José y al niño acostado en el pesebre”. Es imprescindible el encuentro con Jesús. El encuentro con el Señor es el que le va  a dar sentido de discipulado a tu vida.

El verano es un tiempo propicio para compartir con las personas, conocer nuevos amigos, aprovechar las vacaciones después de un intenso esfuerzo durante el año, pero también es el tiempo para que consideres qué tiene que ver este pasaje del Evangelio con tu vida. Él ha venido a la orilla, te está mirando a los ojos y repite tu nombre. ¿Vas a dar a conocer lo que te está diciendo? 

Oración: Señor, dame las fuerzas para poder seguirte y contar a otras personas las experiencias que he tenido. Gracias por la nueva vida en ti.   Amén.
