GOD WILL BE WITH US

GENESIS 48

“Then Israel said to Joseph, ‘I am about to die, but God will be with you and take you back to the land of your fathers.’”

Genesis 48:21

The good Jacob, now in his old age, could not be with Joseph because he was dying, but he left his son with reassuring words:  “God will be with you.”  When our most beloved family members or closest friends are called to the heavenly dwelling through death, we need to console ourselves with the thought that the Lord has not left us, but that he lives and remains with us for always.

If God is with us, we are in illustrious company even though we may be poor and unappreciated. If God is with us we will have enough strength, because nothing is difficult for the Lord.  If God is with us we will always be secure, because no one can harm those who walk beneath his shadow.

Not only is God with us, but he is with us as individuals, as families, as Churches. Does not the very name of Jesus, Immanuel, mean “God with us”? Is not the best thing of all the fact that God is with us?  Let us be courageously diligent and joyously hopeful.  Our cause must succeed; the truth must triumph, because the Lord is with those who are with Him.

Prayer: Lord, grant that each believer may rejoice from this word all day long. Amen.

DIOS SERÁ CON NOSOTROS

GÉNESIS 48

“Luego Israel  dijo a José: He aquí yo estoy a punto de morir, pero Dios estará con nosotros y os hará

volver a la tierra de vuestros padres”

Génesis 48:21

El buen Jacob, ya viejo, no podía estar con José, porque había llegado su hora de morir, pero dejó a su hijo palabras seguras: “Dios será con vosotros”. Cuando nuestros parientes más queridos o nuestros amigos son llamados a la morada celestial por medio de la muerte, tenemos que consolarnos con el pensamiento de que el Señor no nos ha dejado, sino que vive y permanece con nosotros para siempre.

Si Dios está con nosotros, estamos en compañía ilustre aunque seamos pobres y despreciados. Si Dios está con nosotros tenemos fuerzas suficientes, porque  para el Señor ninguna cosa es difícil. Si Dios está con nosotros siempre estamos seguros, porque nadie puede dañar a los que andan bajo su sombra.

No solamente está Dios con nosotros, sino que está con nosotros como individuos, como familias, como Iglesias. ¿No es el mismo nombre de Jesús, Emmanuel, Dios con nosotros? ¿No es esto lo mejor de todo, que Dios está con nosotros? Seamos valerosamente diligentes y gozosamente esperanzados. Nuestra causa tiene que prosperar, la verdad tiene que triunfar, porque el Señor está con los que están con Él.

Oración: Permite Señor, que cada creyente goce de esta palabra en todo el día. Amén.
