LEAVING FOOTPRINTS IN THE WORLD

MATTHEW 5:14-16

“In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

                                               Matthew 5:16

We live in a world where people yearn to excel, to stand out, and even to obtain the best positions, be it in politics, in the entertainment industry, in the Church judiciaries… Today’s meditation is an invitation to leave footprints in the lives of others instead of obtaining an advantageous job with respect to others.  The gospel invites us to glorify God with our testimony.

Following are some suggestions for reflection:

Do you wish to leave behind a footprint in your world?

Live in holiness:

Be faithful to your spouse.

Be the one who does not want to be deceitful at work.

Be the neighbor who acts in a friendly fashion.
Be the employee who does his or her work without complaint.

Pay your bills.

Do your part and enjoy life responsibly.

Do not give advice about anything you have not personally experienced.

People notice the way in which we act more than what we say.

Prayer: Allow us to live in your light each day of our lives.  We ask this in your name. Amen.

DEJANDO HUELLAS EN EL MUNDO

MATEO 5:14-16

“Así alumbre vuestra luz delante de los hombres,

para que vean vuestras buenas obras,

y glorifiquen a vuestro padre que está en los cielos.”

                                               Mateo 5:16

Vivimos en un mundo en el que las personas anhelan sobresalir, destacarse, e incluso procuran los mejores puestos ya sea en la política, en el mundo del espectáculo, en las judicaturas de la Iglesia… La meditación de hoy es una invitación a dejar huellas en la vida de los demás  antes que obtener una posición ventajosa con respecto a los otros. El evangelio nos invita a glorificar a Dios con nuestro testimonio.

He aquí algunos consejos para meditar:

¿Quieres dejar una huella en tu mundo?

Vive en santidad:

Sé fiel a tu pareja

Sé el que en el trabajo no quiere engañar.

Sé el vecino que actúa amigablemente 

Sé el empleado que hace su trabajo sin quejarse.

Paga tus cuentas.

Haz tu parte y disfruta responsablemente la vida.

No des un mensaje si no lo vives.

La gente se fija más en la manera en que actuamos que en lo que decimos.

Oración: Permítenos ser luz en cada día de nuestra vida. En tu nombre lo pedimos. Amén.
