the hemorrhaging woman
Matthew 9:18-22
“If you believe, you
will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
Matthew 21: 22
This poor woman was in a desperate situation. She had been suffering from hemorrhages for
twelve years. I remember once on account of a bleeding peptic ulcer that went
untreated, my hemoglobin count lowered to six. I was practically unable to
walk. But there was something else affecting the life of this poor woman: she was prohibited, for religious reasons,
from attending synagogue or Temple. She
was a social outcast.
The gospel story does not tell us that she spoke with Jesus or told him
about the suffering she was experiencing. She merely thought to herself: “If I
can just reach him and touch his cloak, I will be healed.” It was a prayer made
in silence, but the Lord heard it.
He always listens to prayer, and more importantly, knows how to answer
it. The happiness of that woman on
account of her answered prayer must have been immense.
Ask the Father today without fear, but ask for what you really need.
Prayer: Lord, help me to know how
to pray effectively on this day. Amen
La mujer hemorroisa
Mateo 9: 18-22

ustedes creen, todo lo que pidan en oración lo recibirán”. Mateo 21: 22
Esta
pobre mujer estaba pasando por una situación desesperante. Hacía doce años que
padecía de hemorragias. Recuerdo en una ocasión que por causa de una úlcera
péptica tuve un sangramiento que descuidé y la hemoglobina me bajó a seis.
Estaba que a duras penas casi podía caminar. Pero hay otra realidad que estaba
afectando la vida de esta pobre mujer: le estaba prohibido, por cuestiones
religiosas asistir a la sinagoga o al Templo. Era una mujer excluida de la
sociedad.
En el relato del evangelio no se nos dice que ella
hablara con Jesús, o le contara del sufrimiento por el cual estaba pasando.
Ella sólo pensaba “Si alcanzo a tocar tan sólo su manto, me sanaré”. Fue una
oración en silencio, pero el Señor la escuchó.
El siempre oye la oración, y lo más importante la
sabe contestar. La felicidad de aquella mujer por la oración contestada, tiene
que haber sido inmensa.
Pídele hoy al Padre sin temor, pero pide lo que
realmente necesitas.

Señor que en este día sepa orar como conviene. Amén
