SHARED PATHS
LUKE 6:43-45
The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart…
Luke 6:45a
A story is told about how a fire broke out in a place close to a blind
person and a paraplegic. Both of them went into a state of panic and the blind
man tried to run in the direction of the fire.
The paralytic man yelled out to him: “Don’t run in that direction!” The blind man asked: “Where should I run?” The paraplegic replied: “I could show you the
way but I can’t walk. If you can carry
me on your shoulders, I’ll show you how to avoid the fire, the thorns and other
dangers. That way we can reach the city
together.”
The blind man carried the paralytic on his shoulders and the two of them
arrived safely and without harm at their destination.
When we come together with another man or woman in times of difficulty,
lending our company and our solidarity, joining our efforts, it makes the image
of Jesus shine brightly and his freedom project becomes a light in darkness and
the salt of the earth.
Prayer: Our God,
grant that through the inspiration of your example we may be able to rid our
lives of selfishness and indifference in the face of pain and the needs of
others. Amen.

LUCAS 6:43-45
El hombre bueno, saca lo bueno
del buen tesoro de su corazón
Lucas 6:45a
Cuentan que en una ocasión
un inesperado incendio se produjo cerca de una persona ciega y una paralitica.
Ambos entraron en pánico, el ciego intentó correr justamente hacia donde se producía
el incendio. El paralitico le gritó: “¡No corras hacia
allá!”
El ciego preguntó: “¿Hacia
dónde debo dirigirme?”
El paralitico contestó: “Yo
podría mostrarte el camino, pero no puedo caminar, te pido que me cargues sobre
tus hombros. Te indicaré como evitar el fuego, las espinas, y otros peligros. Y
así juntos llegaremos a la ciudad.”
El ciego cargó sobre sus
hombros al paralitico, y los dos llegaron sanos y salvos a la meta.
El sumarnos al otro y la otra en los momentos de dificultad,
brindar nuestra compañía y solidaridad, juntar nuestros esfuerzos, es hacer
resplandecer la imagen de Jesús y su
proyecto liberador, es ser luz en las tinieblas y sal en la tierra.
Oración: Dios nuestro, permite que inspirados por tu ejemplo
podamos desechar de nuestras vidas, los egoísmos y la indiferencia ante el
dolor y las necesidades de los demás. Amén.
