                                                                A FAMILIAL GOD

                                                               ROMANS 8:14-17

                                                   Go and make disciples in all the nations,

                                                             baptizing them in the name

                                                     of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.                 Matthew 28:19

Today we celebrate the holiday of the Trinity; it’s a family holiday because it speaks to us of a God who isn't alone, rather a God who lives in a family: a welcoming and loving God. But to know the family-oriented and Trinitarian God we must experience him in our lives. We must take God out of the church sanctuary and allow him to accompany us in our daily lives. Through the Son we discover that God is at everyone’s side, both those close to him and those distant from him, and that he has a special weakness for those who acknowledge their sins and who wholeheartedly ask for forgiveness. Through the Spirit we see a God who comes to give us the needed strength, so that we know that always and in all circumstances he will be present to give us support, love, and trust. And so that we feel that we are part of a family, because within a family everyone feels protected, loved, and no one is more important than another, rather, everyone loves the other for who he is and not for any special merits. The act of birth through which we become part of the Christian family has a triple signature: through it we are assuredly adopted as sons of the Father, as brothers of Christ, and as receptors of the gift of the Holy Spirit, which creates the communion between the Father, Son and between the adopted sons of God.

Prayer:  Most Holy Father, dwell with us and welcome us with your familial love. Glory be to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

UN DIOS FAMILIAR

ROMANOS  8:14-17

Vayan y hagan discípulos en todas las naciones,

y bautícenlos en el nombre del Padre,

y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo.

Mateo 28:19

Celebramos hoy la fiesta de la Trinidad. Una fiesta familiar porque nos habla de un Dios que no está sólo, sino de un Dios que vive en familia, un Dios que es acogedor y amoroso. Pero para conocer a este Dios familiar y trinitario, debemos experimentarlo en nuestra vida, sacar a Dios del templo y dejar que nos acompañe en lo cotidiano de nuestra vida. A través del Hijo, descubrimos que Dios está al lado de todos, los cercanos y los alejados, y siente especial debilidad por aquellos que,  reconociéndose pecadores,  piden perdón de corazón. A través del Espíritu vemos a un Dios que viene a darnos la fuerza necesaria para que sepamos que siempre, en toda circunstancia, estará para darnos apoyo, amor y confianza; para que nos sintamos en familia, porque en la familia todos nos sentimos protegidos, amados, ninguno es más importante, sino que a cada uno se quiere tal como es, no se exigen méritos especiales, ni estudios importantes.

El acta de nacimiento por el que entramos a formar parte de la familia cristiana tiene una firma triple, en ella se hace constar que somos adoptados como hijos del Padre, como hermanos de Cristo, y como receptores del don del Espíritu Santo que crea la comunión entre el Padre y el Hijo y entre los hijos adoptivos de Dios.

Oración: Santísima Trinidad, habita en nosotros y acógenos con tu amor familiar. Gloria al Padre, al Hijo y al Espíritu Santo. Amén.
