Day of the Woman

A DIFFERENT MORNING

LUKE 24:5-6

“And very  early on the first day of the week,

when the sun had just risen,

they went to the tomb.”

Mark 16:2

     In the rhythm of our lives, each morning seems to us like a promise of renewal, a new point of departure, like a possibility of living something new.

     However, there once existed a morning different from the rest. At first glance it seemed sadder, but then it came to be the most magnificent. For the women who had gone to Jesus’ tomb that morning, the day was obscured by sorrow, sadness, and by a profound disappointment. Jesus had been crucified, and the hope that they had placed in Him had disappeared.

     Nevertheless, instead of being a morning of crying and sadness, that day was amazing and joyful. Marvelous joy on finding Jesus resurrected!

     Upon waking, at times the day may seem like a heavy burden to us; remember that we can make of a typical morning a different one, one that is unique. What’s simply needed is that we let Jesus direct our lives and give him command of our whole being. 

    

Prayer:  Thank you Lord for this morning you’ve given me, and may the remainder of the day bring blessings. I pray for the women of this world who continue to experience mornings of tears and hopelessness. Give us the courage of those women who rose above fear and who went to find you, and found life and hope instead of death. Amen.

Día de la Mujer

UNA MAÑANA DIFERENTE

LUCAS 24:5-6

“Y muy de mañana, el primer día de la semana,

vinieron al sepulcro, ya salido el sol”

Marcos 16:2

En el ritmo de nuestras vidas, cada mañana nos parece como una promesa de renuevo, de un  nuevo punto de partida, como una posibilidad de vivir algo nuevo.

Ahora bien, existió una mañana diferente a las demás. A primera vista  parecía la más triste, pero resultó ser la más grandiosa. Para las mujeres que habían ido a  la tumba de Jesús, esa mañana estaba oscurecida por el duelo, la tristeza, por una profunda decepción. Jesús había sido crucificado y la esperanza que  ellas  habían depositado en Él habían desaparecido.

Sin embargo, en vez de ser una mañana de llanto y tristeza, ese día fue de asombro y gozo. ¡Gozo maravilloso al encontrar a Jesús resucitado!

Cuando a veces al despertar nos parezca el día como una pesada carga, recordemos que podemos hacer de una mañana común, cotidiana, una mañana diferente, única. Solo basta que pongamos a Jesús a dirigir nuestra vida y darle el mando de todo nuestro ser.

Oración: Gracias Señor, por esta mañana que me regalaste y permite que el resto del día traiga bendiciones. Te pedimos por  las mujeres en todo el mundo que siguen viviendo mañanas de llanto y desesperanza. Danos la valentía de esas mujeres que se sobrepusieron al miedo y fueron a encontrarse con tu muerte, encontrando vida y esperanza. Amén.
