 GOD, OUR FAITHFUL FRIEND

PSALM 34: 1-8

“…blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.”

Psalm 34:8

In José Martí’s book titled “The Golden Age,” which we have all read, there is a simple and very special verse that we learn by heart as children and that says:

The leopard finds shelter

in his dry and brown mountain lair

I have more than the leopard

Because I have a good friend.

It is very important in those difficult moments that we sometimes face in our lives, to have a friend with whom we can share our sorrows and ask for help; knowing that we can rely on sincere and unconditional friendship.

This is what we do when we feel lost and disoriented, and we take refuge in our God of Glory.

When our faith is firm, He always extends His hand to us and says to us: “Do not be afraid, I am here to save you.” He is our friend, our Savior.  Let us trust fully in his love and in his faithfulness.  Let us reciprocate that friendship and cultivate all our trust and faithfulness towards our God.

Prayer: Lord, faithful friend, you never forsake us throughout our lives.  Grant that we may always walk hand in hand with you, receiving your comfort and your blessings. Amen.

 DIOS, NUESTRO AMIGO FIEL

SALMO 34: 1-8

“…Dichoso el hombre que confía en él”

Salmo 34:8

En el libro  “La Edad de Oro” de José Martí, que todos hemos leído, hay un verso sencillo muy especial que aprendemos de memoria desde la niñez y dice:

Tiene el leopardo un abrigo

en su monte seco y pardo

yo tengo más que el leopardo

porque tengo un buen amigo.

Es muy importante en los momentos difíciles que a veces enfrentamos en nuestras vidas, tener un amigo a quien contarle nuestras penas y pedirle ayuda;  siempre que estemos seguros de su amistad sincera e incondicional.

Así hacemos cuando nos sentimos desorientados y perdidos, y nos refugiamos en nuestro Dios de Gloria.

Cuando es firme nuestra fe, Él siempre nos extiende Su mano y nos dice: “No temas, yo estoy aquí para salvarte”. Él es nuestro amigo, nuestro Salvador. Confiemos plenamente en su amor y su fidelidad. Seamos recíprocos en esa relación de amistad y cultivemos toda confianza y fidelidad para con nuestro Dios.

Oración: Señor, amigo fiel, tú nunca te ausentas de nuestras vidas. Permite que podamos caminar sujetos de tu mano siempre, recibiendo tu consuelo y tus bendiciones. Amén.
