THE NARROW PATH

EPHESIANS 6:10-20

“Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”

Ephesians 6:11

Jesus Christ’s life was very difficult from the moment of his birth.  Let us recall that he was born in a stable and that his crib was a humble manger.  His father was a simple carpenter with whom he worked.  When he began his ministry, he was often humiliated, persecuted and also scorned, up until his death on the cross.

When we decide to take the path of the Lord, we think that it will be only blessings and good things.  But this is not the case, and even if the road of faith fills us with hope and peace, we often have to pass through difficult pathways. When we are on such rough terrain, it is important to push aside the heavy stones that obstruct it and that cause us to stumble and fall.

We need to have the confidence that if we persevere in faith, as Jesus did, we will be able to achieve our final goal. If we continue on our journey with our focus on God, we will find strength and achieve our spiritual growth in the midst of our difficulties.

Let us never believe that the pathway of Christian men and women is wide and clear.  Let us instead trust in God and in his power to help us reach the finishing line.

Prayer: Lord, give us the strength that we need in order to walk in your ways. Give us perseverance and help us to encourage and support those who have given up because they have not been able to bear their load.  Amen.

EL CAMINO ANGOSTO

EFESIOS 6:10-20

“Vestíos de toda la armadura de Dios, para que podáis 

estar firmes contra las asechanzas del diablo”

Efesios 6:11

La vida de  Jesucristo fue muy difícil desde su nacimiento. Recordemos que nació en un establo y su cuna fue un humilde pesebre. Su padre fue un simple carpintero con el cual Él trabajaba. Al comenzar su ministerio, muchas veces fue humillado, perseguido y también despreciado, hasta su muerte en la cruz.

Cuando decidimos tomar el camino del Señor, pensamos que solo será de bendiciones y cosas buenas.  Mas no es así, si bien el camino de la fe nos llena de esperanza y paz, en no pocas ocasiones tenemos que transitar por caminos difíciles. En medio de caminos escabrosos nos es preciso apartar piedras pesadas que lo obstruyen  y nos hacen tropezar y caer. 

Debemos tener la seguridad de que como Jesús, si perseveramos en la fe,  lograremos  avanzar hasta el final. Si transitamos el camino enfocados en Dios, encontraremos fuerzas y lograremos nuestro crecimiento espiritual en medio de las dificultades.

No pensemos nunca que el camino de los cristianos y las cristianas es  ancho y limpio.  Sólo confiando en Dios y su poder llegaremos a la meta.

Oración: Señor, danos la fortaleza que necesitamos para transitar tu camino. Danos perseverancia y ayúdanos a dar aliento y sostener a los que se han aportado porque no han podido llevar su carga. Amén
