COMMUNION IS LOVE
I CORINTHIANS
11:23-26
“And when he had
given thanks, he broke it and said, ‘this is my body, which is for you; do this
in remembrance of me.’”

Communion is God’s
great act of love because it is the continuation, the actualization of Jesus
giving himself up for us on the cross. At the same time, it is the great act of
fraternal love in which we are all united in Him and eat of the same bread.
Communion is thus the
center of all Christian life, and in it the sacrifice of Jesus delineates a
route in our lives. Communion is also the community gathered together around
the table. We all need to remain in his
love, his strength, his peace and his joy.
We all need to remain in obedience to God. In this way, He and Jesus
Christ will remain in us for always. This means that his living water, his
bread of life, and his Holy Spirit will remain in us.
Each time that we
take communion, let us do an analysis of our lives and our participation in the
Church and in the community; let us renew our vows of faithfulness and let us
approach Jesus Christ and all human beings with love.
The night before his
crucifixion, Jesus Christ shared a meal with his disciples and expressed his
desire for them to remember that He gave himself for us, and so that we would
not forget him, he left us these visible symbols: the bread and the cup. And let us remember that he said: “Do this in remembrance of me.”
Prayer: Lord, help us to feel you in the bread
and in the wine, and to not forget our commitment to our neighbor. Amen.

ES AMOR

La
Comunión es el gran acto del amor de Dios porque es la continuación, la
actualización para nosotros de la entrega que de sí mismo hizo Jesucristo en la
cruz. A la vez, es el gran acto del amor fraterno en el que todos nos unimos a
Él y comemos un mismo pan.
Así la
Comunión es el centro de toda la vida cristiana, y en ella el sacrificio de
Jesús marca una ruta en nuestras vidas.
Comunión
es también “comunidad reunida” alrededor de la mesa. Todos debemos permanecer
en su amor, su fuerza, su paz y su gozo. Debemos permanecer en obediencia a
Dios. De este modo, Él y Jesucristo permanecerán en nosotros por siempre. Esto
significa que su agua viva, su pan de vida y su Espíritu Santo permanecerán en
nosotros.
Cada
vez que comulguemos, hagamos un análisis de nuestras vidas y nuestra
participación en la Iglesia y en la comunidad; renovemos nuestros votos de
fidelidad y acerquémonos a Jesucristo y a todos los seres humanos con amor.
La
noche antes de su crucifixión, Jesucristo compartió la cena con sus discípulos
y expresó su deseo de que recordaran que Él se dio por nosotros, y para que no lo olvidemos nos dejó estos
símbolos visibles: el pan y la copa. Y recordemos que dijo: “Haced esto en
memoria de mí”
Oración: Señor,
ayúdanos a sentirte en el pan y en el vino, y a no olvidar nuestro compromiso
con el prójimo. Amén.
