OPPORTUNITIES FOR BEARING WITNESS
LUKE 21:13-15
“This will result
in your being witnesses…”
Luke 21:13
The language and the wisdom that Jesus promises us are
sometimes silent, signals for attention without the sound of words. The Holy Spirit makes everyone a witness, but
it takes courage to publicly acknowledge Jesus when everything in a world
marked by doubts urges silence.
Witnesses for the faith are those who bear the mockery of
those who laugh at Christianity.
Witnesses for the faith are those who each day consecrate a
part of their time to prayer and meditation, and who reserve Sundays for going
to church.
Witnesses for the faith are spouses who remain faithful in
the midst of broken marriages despite the difficulties every couple
experiences.
Witnesses for the faith are the elderly who patiently endure
the pain of aging.
Witnesses for the faith are believers who endure suffering
without grumbling.
Witnesses for the faith are those who remain faithful
whatever the circumstances of their lives are and who surrender their lives to
the grace of God.
Prayer: Jesus, help me to bear witness to my faith in you every
day. May I not concentrate so much on my difficulties but rather may I be your
witness, and may my testimony be faithful to you. Thank you, Jesus, for calling
me to give account of our hope in your Kingdom. Amen.

OCASIONES DE TESTIFICAR
LUCAS 21:13-15
“Esto os será ocasión para dar testimonio…”
Lucas 21:13
Ese lenguaje y esa sabiduría
que Jesús nos promete son a veces silenciosos, señales de atención sin
pronunciar palabras. El Espíritu Santo hace de todo creyente un testigo. Pero
éste debe tener la valentía para reconocer a Jesús públicamente cuando todo lo
incita a callarse en medio de un mundo marcado por las dudas.
Testigos de la fe son aquellos
que soportan las burlas de los que se ríen del cristianismo.
Testigos de la fe son los que
consagran cada día una parte de su tiempo a la oración y la meditación, y los
domingos los reservan para ir al templo.
Testigos de la fe son los
esposos que permanecen fieles en medio de todas las parejas deshechas, a pesar
de las dificultades por las que todas las parejas pasan.
Testigos de la fe son los
ancianos que soportan con paciencia los achaques de la edad.
Testigos de la fe son los
creyentes que soportan los sufrimientos sin quejarse.
Testigos de la fe son los que
permanecen fieles, sean cual sean las circunstancias de la vida, entregando su
vida a la gracia de Dios.
Oración: Jesús, ayúdame a ser testigo de la fe en ti día a día.
Que no me concentre tanto en las dificultades, sino en ser un testigo tuyo y en
dar un testimonio de fidelidad a ti. Gracias, Jesús, porque me has llamado para
dar razón de nuestra esperanza en tu reino. Amén
