A KNOCK
REVELATION 3:1-20
Behold, I am at the
door and I am calling….
Revelation 3:20
In our times it’s
quite rare that we’d open the door of our house to someone without already
knowing them. Many houses are so wrapped in bars that they seem like jails.
This is because we’re living in times when people distrust others, and strangers
even more so.
This distrust puts us
so much on the defensive that sometimes we lose the opportunity to meet special
people in our lives, since not everyone who approaches us has bad intentions.
Sisters and brothers,
our lives cannot be closed, because if they are we can shut ourselves off from
the possibilities that God brings to our doors.
This very minute God
can be calling at your life. Maybe you’re distressed, alone or depressed, and
haven’t taken the trouble to listen to Him. Open your life to Him, and He will
come in and keep the most cordial and most beneficial company with you; a companionship
which you’ll never stop wanting or needing. Strip those bars from your heart
that you yourself have erected, those that impede you from meeting someone so
special as Jesus, the best of friends.
Prayer: Lord, thank you
for knocking at my door. Sharpen my ears to hear your call. Give me the
strength and sensibility to trust and open the doors of my life to you without
reserve. Amen.

aquí yo estoy a la puerta y llamo….
Apocalipsis
3:20
Es
bien difícil en nuestro tiempo que alguien toque a la puerta de una casa y se
le abra sin conocerle. Muchas casas están todas tan llenas de rejas, que
parecen cárceles.
Es que
se viven tiempos donde las personas desconfían de los demás y mucho más de los
desconocidos.
Esta
desconfianza nos pone tan a la defensiva que en ocasiones nos perdemos la
oportunidad de conocer personas especiales en nuestra vida, pues no todo el que
se acerca, viene con malas intenciones.
Hermanas
y hermanos, nuestras vidas no pueden estar cerradas, porque así podemos
cerrarnos a las posibilidades que Dios pone ante nuestra puerta.
Ahora
mismo, Dios puede estar llamando a tu vida. Tal vez estás angustiada, en
soledad o deprimido y no te has tomado el trabajo de atenderle. Ábrele tu vida
y entrará y te hará compañía, la más
cordial y beneficiosa, esa que nunca vas a dejar de desear y necesitar. Quita
de tu corazón esas rejas que le has
puesto y que te impiden encontrarte con alguien tan especial, Jesús, el mejor
de los amigos.
Oración:
Señor, gracias por tocar a mi puerta. Agudiza mis oídos para escuchar tu
llamado. Dame la fortaleza y sensibilidad para confiar y abrirte las puertas de
mi vida sin reservas. Amén.
