WE ARE ONE IN SPIRIT AND IN THE LORD

ROMANS 12:2-4

…Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought,

but rather think of yourself with sober judgment,

in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you

Romans 12: 3

Many times we permit ourselves to be carried away by the passion of work and success without considering that, for the most part, we exceed the limits of good sense and respect for others.

Certainly it’s good to have success in life, but we need to be careful because so much brightness can produce blindness. God asks us to be humble and moderate in everything we do.

    

Likewise, we receive gifts to be used in the function of a single objective: the unity and the growth of the church of Jesus Christ.

Given the diversity of gifts, we are called to be creative in our actions, offering space and always seeking harmony.

In this regard the reformer John Calvin said,

“God did not concentrate all gifts in a single person,

rather each one received a determined amount,

so that we need one another and help each other reciprocally, 

jointly contributing the benefits that each has received.”

Prayer: Lord, let us live in harmony, helping and serving each other and growing in Spirit and in truth. Forgive us, oh God, for the times we seek our own brilliance and not the growth of our faith community. In Christ Jesus we pray. Amen.

SOMOS UNO EN ESPÍRITU Y EN EL SEÑOR

ROMANOS 12:2-4

…cada uno piense de sí con cordura, conforme

a la medida de fe que Dios repartió a cada uno…

Romanos 12: 3

Muchas veces nos dejamos llevar por la pasión del trabajo y el éxito; sin pensar que la mayoría de las veces sobrepasamos los límites de la cordura y el respeto a los demás.

Desde luego, que es bueno tener éxito en la vida; pero hay que tener cuidado porque tanto brillo puede producir ceguera. Dios nos manda a tener medida en todo lo que hacemos.

Así mismo, recibimos dones para ser ejercitados en función de un mismo propósito: la unidad y el crecimiento de la Iglesia de Jesucristo.

Dada la diversidad de dones, estamos llamados a ser creativos en nuestro accionar, ofreciendo espacios y procurando siempre la armonía.

Al respecto el reformador Juan Calvino dijo: “…Dios no concentró todos los dones en una misma persona, sino que cada una recibió una determinada cantidad, para que unos necesiten a otros y se ayuden recíprocamente, aportando conjuntamente los beneficios que cada uno ha recibido”.

Oración: Señor, permítenos vivir en armonía, ayudándonos, sirviéndonos y creciendo juntas y juntos en Espíritu y en verdad. Perdónanos, oh Dios por las veces en que buscamos nuestro propio brillo y no el crecimiento de nuestra comunidad de fe. Por cristo Jesús oramos. Amén.
