FOR WHAT DO WE ASK? HOW DO WE ASK?

Praying is talking with God; it’s conversing and being in communion with Him.  Prayer is one of the most efficient powers that God offers the human being.  It is a treat, a freely given gift, a gift of the Spirit.

            Often without moving our lips we are crying out from the bottom of our hearts. Every day we are exposed to temptations which taunt us constantly. But it makes no difference how often, nor how serious these temptations are; we are assured of overcoming them by means of prayer. But for our prayers to be effective we must look within ourselves. Is there humility within you? Is there true repentance? Is there faith in Him? If so, the conditions are right for your prayers to be heard by God.

In addition, our prayer ought not to be a list of selfish requests, but it should be a sensitive and united clamor for the problems of our neighbor or of our world. And whether or not God answers our prayers as we hope, our prayer must go accompanied by an eternal thanksgiving to the Lord.

            There is something else that must not be lacking, and that is that our prayer must be attuned to the prayer of our Lord . . . nevertheless, not my will but yours. (Luke 22:42)

Prayer:  Thank you, Lord, for all the gifts which you give us, especially the opportunity to approach you in intimate conversation, in full communion. Amen.

¿QUÉ PEDIMOS? ¿CÓMO PEDIMOS?

SANTIAGO  4: 1-3

Pedís, pero no recibís, porque pedís mal…

Santiago .4:3

Orar es hablar con Dios, es dialogar y estar en comunión con Él. La oración es uno de los poderes más eficaces que Dios ofrece al ser humano. Es regalo, es dádiva, es don del Espíritu.

Muchas veces sin mover los labios estamos clamando desde el fondo de nuestro corazón.

Todos los días estamos expuestos a tentaciones que nos provocan constantemente, pero no importa cuántas, ni cuán graves sean estas tentaciones, estemos seguros que por medio de la oración las podemos vencer.

Pero para que sean eficaces es necesario que nos analicemos interiormente ¿Hay humildad en ti? ¿Hay verdadero arrepentimiento? ¿Haz puesto tu fe en El? Entonces sí, las condiciones están creadas para que sean escuchadas por Dios tus oraciones.

Además nuestra oración no debe ser una lista de egoístas peticiones, sino qué debe ser un clamor sensible y solidario por los problemas de nuestro prójimo o de nuestro mundo. Y así Dios conteste o no tal y como esperábamos, nuestra oración debe ir acompañada de una eterna acción de gracias al Señor.

Hay algo que no debe faltar, y es que nuestra petición tiene que estar en  sintonía con la oración de nuestro Señor: …pero no se haga mi voluntad, sino la tuya (Lc.22:42)

Oración: Gracias Señor, por todos los regalos que nos das, en especial la oportunidad de acercarnos a ti en diálogo estrecho, en plena comunión. Amén.
