WHAT DO YOU NEED?
JOHN 6:1-40
Whoever comes to me will never go
hungry…
John 6:35
Each person will answer the question that serves
as the title of our meditation in a different manner. Some need health, others
a stable job, a home, a spouse’s love, their children’s success, a better
economy, spaces of spiritual growth or recreation, etc. The replies will vary
according to personal expectations or family concerns.
We can feel overwhelmed by problems and conflicts
each day, and we don’t know how to respond to them. We can resolve some, others
unfortunately we cannot. Far beyond all those problems exists an imperious need,
which upon being satisfied, will bring peace and tranquility to our hearts.
One glance of faith toward Jesus and an intimate
relationship with Him is sufficient to know true spiritual peace, even when
beset by storms. This doesn’t mean that our crisis situations will resolve in a
minute, but that from that moment on they will be in the hands of the one who
will resolve them in his own way and time.
When you get up each day ask yourself what you
need; go to God, our living water and quench your thirst.
Prayer: Lord, today I
want my fundamental need to be to find you. Open my mind and heart to be more
conscious of your presence. Amen.

USTED?
JUAN 6: 1-40
El que viene a
mí, nunca tendrá hambre…

Cada uno contestará de
distinta manera la pregunta que sirve de título a nuestra meditación. Unos
necesitan salud, otros un trabajo estable, una vivienda, el amor de una pareja,
el éxito de los hijos, mejor economía, espacios de crecimiento espiritual o de
diversión, etc. Las respuestas variarán según las expectativas personales o las
preocupaciones familiares.
Cada día podemos sentirnos
abrumados por problemas, conflictos y no
sabemos cómo responder a ellos. Podremos
resolver algunos, otros desgraciadamente no.
Más allá de todos esos
problemas, existe una imperiosa necesidad que al ser satisfecha, traerá paz y
tranquilidad a su corazón.
Basta una mirada de fe hacia
Jesús y una relación íntima con Él para conocer la verdadera paz espiritual aun
en medio de las tormentas. Esto no quiere decir que nuestras situaciones de
crisis se resolverán en un minuto, sino que desde ese momento estarán en mano
de aquel que lo solucionará a su manera y en el momento oportuno.
Al levantarse cada mañana y
preguntarse qué necesita, vaya a Dios, nuestra agua viva y calme su sed.
Oración: Señor, hoy quiero que mi necesidad fundamental sea
encontrarte. Abre mi mente y mi corazón para ser más consciente de tu
presencia. Amén.
