EACH DAY HAS ENOUGH TROUBLE OF ITS OWN

MATTHEW 6:31-33

But seek first his kingdom and righteousness,

and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 6:33

Worry is an offense to God. Anxiety and preoccupation dishonor God. If my son were to continually doubt my love, doubt my desires for his welfare and my willing disposal to giving him the best I can, surely I would be greatly saddened.

Worry also harms us, destroys peace, and produces impatience and complaints. Many people are always anxious with respect to difficulties that can occur, and most of them are unfounded. As our Cuban refrain goes, “[They’re] putting the cart in front of the mule.” At times we want God to smooth the obstacles in advance, but He promised to do so a step at a time. The only thing that belongs to us is this present moment; and the way to live well is to live the present hour.

Sufficient for the day is its own troubles. If we learned this lesson we would be spared many worries. Christ promised us his presence until the end of the world. May we place our weak hand in his. Let us trust; he continues to lead us in safety until the journey’s end.

Prayer: We ask for your forgiveness, Lord, for the many times that we worry, become distraught and lose hope. Help us to learn to trust more in you. Amen.

BASTA A CADA DÍA SU PROPIO AFÁN

MATEO 63: 31-33

Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia,

y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas

Mateo 6:33

La inquietud es una ofensa para con Dios. La ansiedad y las preocupaciones deshonran a Dios. Si mi hijo dudara continuamente de mi amor, de mis deseos de hacerle bien y de mi voluntad dispuesta a darle lo mejor para él, seguro me entristecería mucho.

La inquietud también nos daña a nosotros, nos quita la paz, produce impaciencia y quejas.

Muchas personas están siempre ansiosas con respecto a las dificultades que podrían ocurrirle y que a menudo nunca les acontecen. Como decimos en buen cubano: “Ponen la carreta delante  de los bueyes”. A veces quisiéramos que Dios nos allanara los obstáculos por anticipado, pero Él prometió hacerlo paso a paso. Lo único que nos pertenece es el momento presente y la manera de vivir bien es vivir la hora presente.

Basta a cada día su propio afán  Si aprendiéramos esta lección nos ahorraríamos muchísimas preocupaciones.

Cristo nos prometió su presencia hasta el fin del mundo. Pongamos nuestra débil mano en la suya.  Confiemos, él nos conducirá con seguridad hasta el fin del viaje.

Oración: Te pedimos perdón Señor, por las tantas veces que nos preocupamos, nos agobiamos y nos desesperamos. Permítenos aprender a confiar más en ti. Amén.
