PRAY WITHOUT
CEASING
ACTS 12:1-17
While Peter was
kept in prison, the church prayed fervently to God for him.
Acts 12:5
Very little is said in the Bible about Mary, the mother of
John (known also as Mark), but from the story just read, we can believe that
she was a devout and hospitable woman of prayer. She offered her house to a
group of people so they could gather there to pray.
Peter was in prison, and they were in constant prayer that
God would free him from jail. We can see how these prayers were answered: Peter
was freed in a miraculous manner. At times we ask ourselves how we can get out
of difficult situations when everything seems to go against us. The answer is
clear and convincing: for God, everything is possible.
Fervent prayer made with faith has great power and reaches
the throne of God. This very day many churches and different groups meet
together to pray for peace, for the sorrowful, for the sick, and for freedom
for those who live in prison. Let’s keep going forward and not lose heart and
pray ceaselessly. Without doubt we will achieve great wonders.
Prayer: Lord, teach us to pray. Allow our communication with you
to be not just a list of petitions but that we may recognize you as God who
accompanies us, who takes joy in our triumphs and who strengthens us in the
midst of trials. Amen.

HECHOS 12:1-17
…Así que Pedro estaba en la cárcel, bien vigilado, pero
los de la iglesia seguían orando a Dios por él con mucho fervor
Hechos 12:5
Sobre María, la madre de
Juan, (conocido además por el nombre de Marcos), se habla muy poco en la
Biblia; pero, por el relato leído, podemos pensar que era una mujer de oración,
devota y hospitalaria. Ella prestaba su casa para que un grupo de personas se
reunieran allí para orar.
Pedro estaba preso y
ellos estaban en constante oración para que Dios lo liberara de la cárcel.
Vemos cómo esas oraciones son contestadas y Pedro de manera milagrosa es
liberado. A veces nos preguntamos ¿cómo logramos salir de las situaciones
difíciles, cuando todo parece adverso? La respuesta es clara y contundente:
para Dios todo es posible.
La oración fervorosa
hecha con fe tiene mucho poder y llega hasta el trono de Dios. En el día de hoy
muchas Iglesias y distintos grupos se
reúnen para orar juntos por la paz, los tristes, los enfermos y por la
liberación de los que viven en prisión.
Sigamos adelante y no desmayemos y oremos sin cesar. Sin dudas, alcanzaremos
grandes maravillas.
Oración : Señor, enséñanos a orar. Permite que nuestra comunicación contigo no
sea una lista de pedidos, que te reconozcamos como el Dios acompañante que se
goza en nuestros triunfos y nos fortalece en medio de la prueba. Amén.
