GOOD NEWS
JOHN 10:11-21
Many of them said, “He is demon-possessed and raving mad.
Why listen to him?” (NIV)
John 10:20
Some people only have negative conversations. It seems like they only have discouraging news: those who have died or are dying, accidents, illnesses, pains. All their communication is pessimistic. And I ask myself: Don’t they have something beautiful, hopeful, interesting, and happy to relate? Don’t they have some good news to raise our spirits? Or have the good things become so simple and commonplace that they no longer uplift the soul and offer a respite to the sad things we experience every day?

Over time, you no longer feel like listening to these people, because even if you try to interject a positive comment in the conversation, they continue their dialogue as if they had never heard you. We all need a fresh breath of good news. Let’s make a mental list of good things we have experienced, and we would probably be surprised to realize that we are happy, laugh, enjoy, and feel good about so many simple things, that because they are so simple we forget or ignore them. We remember more clearly the negative things that have happened to us. It may seem crazy to talk about good news at this time, but we can’t let negativity overpower our lives.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for everything good that happens to us every day, which is a great deal, although we don’t see it. Amen.

BUENAS NUEVAS
JUAN 10:11-21
