YOU GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO EAT

LUKE 9:10-17

He replied, “You give them something to eat” (NIV)

Luke 9:13

Sometimes I wonder how God feels when we fail to do our part and simply leave it to Him.

Here in this passage we have an example of Jesus’ attitude toward the comfort and irresponsibility of His disciples. It’s true that there was a huge crowd, that there wasn’t enough food, and that it was late; but it is also true that the disciples were more concerned about all this than about the presence of Jesus and helping Him solve the problem.

Faced with the disciples’ escapist attitude, and desiring to resolve the situation, Jesus told them: You give them something to eat.

The miracle occurred because Jesus did what the disciples could not do, and the disciples did what they had on hand to do.

Often, we don’t see the miracles around us because we leave them up to God and do not commit ourselves. We are God’s helpers. We have to do our part; God’s part is certain.

Prayer: Lord, give me the willingness to work with You. Help me escape from my comfort zone and from leaving everything up to You, and from not doing my part. Amen.

LUCAS  9:10-17

Él les dijo: dadles vosotros de comer…

Lucas 9:13

Hay veces que me pongo a pensar en la cara que Dios pone cuando dejamos de hacer lo que nos toca y sencillamente se lo dejamos a Él.

Aquí en este pasaje tenemos un ejemplo de la actitud de Jesús ante la comodidad e irresponsabilidad de sus discípulos. Es cierto que había mucha gente, que no había suficiente comida, que era tarde; pero también es cierto que los discípulos le dieron más importancia a todo eso que a la presencia de Jesús y a colaborar con Él en la solución del problema.

Ante la actitud escapista de los discípulos y querer sacarle el cuerpo a la situación, Jesús los ubica: Denle ustedes de comer.

El milagro ocurrió porque Jesús hizo lo que los discípulos no podían hacer y los discípulos hicieron lo que tenían en sus manos para hacer.

Muchas veces no vemos los milagros a nuestro alrededor porque dejamos a Dios solo en el asunto y no nos comprometemos. Somos colaboradores de Dios, tenemos que hacer nuestra parte, la de Dios está segura.

Oración: Dame Señor, la voluntad para trabajar contigo. Quita de mi vida la comodidad y el querer dejártelo todo a Ti, no haciendo la parte que me corresponde. Amén.
