A NEW WORSHIP

2 SAMUEL 6

David and all Israel were celebrating with all their might

before the Lord with castanets, harps,

lyres, timbrels, sistrums and cymbals.   (NIV)

No other relationship is more important than our relationship with God. Nevertheless, at times our relationship with God becomes monotonous or routine. We love God and worship Him, but we do it always in the same way, week after week, and it becomes a ritual. We attend church and give our offerings without even thinking about God. It’s become a repetitive task, one thing more on our list of to-does. Simply mechanical.

If you want to maintain your loving relationship with the living God, try to speak in a new language of love. Today’s text tells us that King David expressed himself before the Lord through dance. If you like this idea you could attempt the same. If not, you can try some other thing that helps you renew your relationship with God. Instead of praying seated in the same place as always, stand up and pray, or pray kneeling. Write your feelings in a Psalm and sing it to the Lord. Use the creativity that He has given you to bring newness to your time of communion with God, since God never wants our relationship with him to become routine.

Prayer: I ask you God that you help me to maintain my relationship with you as renewed as it may be possible. Amen.

2 SAMUEL 6

Y David y toda la casa de Israel danzaban delante de Jehová

con toda clase de instrumento de madera de haya;

con arpas, salterios, panderos, flautas y címbalos.

Ninguna otra relación es más importante que nuestra relación con Dios. Sin embargo, a veces nuestra relación con Dios se vuelve monótona o rutinaria. Amamos a Dios y le adoramos, pero lo hacemos de la misma manera siempre, semana tras semana y se ha convertido en un ritual. Asistimos a la iglesia, damos nuestras ofrendas sin ni siquiera pensar en Dios. Ha llegado a ser una tarea repetitiva, una cosa más de nuestra lista de quehaceres. Simplemente algo más de lo que hacemos.

Si quieres mantener tu relación de amor con Dios viva, trata de hablar un lenguaje de amor nuevo.

En el texto de hoy se nos dice que el rey David se expresaba ante el Señor por medio de la danza. Si te gusta esa idea, podrías intentar lo mismo. Si no, puedes intentar con cualquier otra cosa que te ayude a renovar tu relación con Dios. En vez de orar sentado en el mismo lugar siempre, levántate y ora, o arrodíllate y ora. Escribe tus sentimientos en un salmo y cántaselo al Señor. Usa la creatividad que Él te ha dado para traer novedad a tu tiempo de comunión con Dios, pues Dios nunca quiere que nuestra relación con Él sea rutinaria.

Oración: Te pido Dios, que me ayudes a mantener mi relación contigo tan renovada como sea posible. Amén.
