LET US PREPARE OURSELVES
FOR PREACHING
THE KINGDOM OF GOD
MaRK 1:14-20

At times I have asked myself how Jesus was able to do so much in such a
short time. How could he have turned
every opportunity into a teaching moment and a chance for transformation for
the people with whom he lived and to whom he gave his love? The gospel of Mark relates briefly some important
moments in the life of Jesus before beginning his ministry. They are the baptism and the experience in
the desert. As we know, these
experiences are related to the beginning of a new life, a new birth.
The evangelist is telling us that with these transformative experiences,
with this new birth, Jesus is ready to begin his work of preaching the kingdom
of God.
This is one of the answers to my question. Jesus prepared himself to begin his
work. God called him his beloved son,
chose him by his name, gave him the opportunity to be reborn, to surrender
himself completely for his cause. Jesus was tempted, and overcame the power of
evil. Jesus was filled by God, dressed
in the power of God, and it was there that he was truly ready to complete the
task God had put into his hands. Only
then was Jesus ready to go to the crowds and preach the gospel to them.
Prayer: Our God, permit us to prepare ourselves like
Jesus to preach your kingdom of love and peace.

evangelio del reino de Dios

¿A veces me he preguntado como Jesús pudo hacer
tanto y en tan poco tiempo? ¿Cómo se las valía para que cada oportunidad fuera
un momento de aprendizaje y de transformación para las personas con las que
vivió y a las cuales les entregó su amor?
El evangelio de Marcos relata brevemente algunos momentos importantes de
la vida de Jesús antes de comenzar su ministerio. Estos son el bautismo y la
experiencia del desierto. Como sabemos estas experiencias están relacionadas
con el inicio de una nueva vida, de un nuevo nacimiento.
El evangelista nos está diciendo que, con estas
experiencias transformadoras, con este nuevo renacer, Jesús está listo para
comenzar su tarea de predicar el reino de Dios.
Ahí está una de las respuestas a mi interrogante.
Jesús se preparó para realizar su obra. Dios le llamó su hijo amado, lo escogió
por su nombre, le dio la oportunidad de renacer nuevamente, de entregarse por
completo a su causa. Jesús fue tentado, y venció el poder del mal. Jesús se
llenó de Dios, se revistió del poder de Dios, y fue ahí cuando de verdad estuvo
listo para cumplir la tarea que Dios había puesto en sus manos. Solo entonces
Jesús estuvo listo para ir a las multitudes y predicarles el evangelio.
Oración: Dios nuestro, permite, que como Jesús podamos prepararnos para predicar
tu Reino de amor y de paz. Amen.
