LOOKING FOR THE TRUTH
JOHN 8:30-36
“Then you will know the truth, and
the truth will set you free.”
John 8:32 CEB
A proverb
says, “Easier said than done.”
Why in this
time is the truth so trite and badly used?
How has the truth been so twisted on the lips of many people? How do we discover trickery before it becomes
too late? Today, in place of the truth,
we just get appearances of credibility, demonstrations of trickery, “shiny
clothing”.
The Word of
Jesus makes the truth irrefutable. This
he demonstrated with his life and his death. By his resurrection he was
transformed into Good News for all of humanity, for daily life and for
eternity.
It is the
truth of God who is faithful to his covenant and who truly wants the life
abundant and eternal for his creation, and who confirmed it by sending us his
Son.
Let us not
conform to this century, let us look for the truth, follow it, defend it, and
thus be truly free.
Prayer: Thank you Jesus, for showing us
the truth through your Word and your daily actions. Amen.

BUSCANDO LA VERDAD
JUAN
8:30-36
Jesús dijo:
“Conocerán la verdad, y la verdad los hará libres”
Juan 8:32
Dice un refrán: “Del dicho al hecho, hay mucho
trecho”
¿Por qué en este tiempo la verdad está tan
manoseada, tan mal usada? ¿Cómo se ha tornado tan poco creíble en los labios de muchas personas? ¿Cómo
descubrimos el engaño antes de que sea
tarde? Hoy, en lugar de la verdad, apenas obtenemos apariencias de
credibilidad, demostraciones engañosas, ropaje reluciente.
La Palabra de Jesús se hace verdad irrefutable. Así
lo demostró con su vida y su muerte; y por su resurrección se transformó en
Buena Noticia para toda la humanidad, para la vida de cada día y por la
eternidad.
Es la verdad de Dios que es fiel a su pacto y que
quiere verdaderamente la vida abundante
y eterna de su creación, y nos lo confirmó enviando a su Hijo.
No nos conformemos a este siglo, busquemos la
verdad, sigámosla, defendámosla y así seremos verdaderamente libres.
Oración: Gracias Jesús, por mostrarnos
la verdad a través de tu Palabra y de tu acción cotidiana. Amén.
