BEING CONVERTED

MATTHEW 3:1-12

John the Baptist said: “You brood of vipers!

Who warned you to free from the coming wrath.”

Matthew 3:8 (NIV)

I understand that showing we have returned to the Lord is showing the world that we have been converted.

Being converted means a change in our lives, and helping to change others’ lives.

Being converted is having the ability to look at and really see what is around us. Being converted is assuming a commitment derived from looking around us.

Being converted is having faith, faith that our conversion is by God’s hand.

Therefore, if faith is what mobilizes us to see and act, we are showing ourselves to be people who have returned to the Lord. Showing that we have returned to the Lord is more than talking about Him and what He has done for us. It is above all living and acting in accordance with that example we have received by grace. Therefore conversion is not static; it is not enough to say: “I am converted” and that’s it. Conversion leads me to action, changes the foundation for me, and helps me to show others whom I believe in, and why I believe in Him.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, teach me to love and serve your whole creation. Grant that our actions testify that we have truly returned to You. Amen.

CONVERTIRSE

MATEO 3:1-12

Juan el Bautista les dijo: “Pórtense de tal modo 

que se vea claramente que se han vuelto al Señor”

Mateo 3:8

Entiendo que mostrar que nos hemos vuelto al Señor es mostrar al mundo que nos hemos convertido.

Convertirse es cambiar de vida, es cambiar nuestra vida, es ayudar a cambiar la vida de otros.

Convertirse es tener la capacidad de mirar, de ver a nuestro alrededor. Convertirse es asumir un compromiso que viene de haber mirado a nuestro alrededor.

Convertirse es tener fe,  tener fe en que esa conversión viene de la mano de Dios.

Por lo tanto, si es la fe la que nos moviliza a ver y a actuar, nos estamos mostrando como personas que se han vuelto al Señor. Mostrar que nos hemos vuelto al Señor no se limita solamente a hablar de Él y de lo que ha hecho por nosotros. Es sobre todo vivir y actuar de acuerdo con ese ejemplo que recibimos por gracia. Por eso la conversión no es estática; no es decir: “Me convierto” y ya está. La conversión me lleva a la acción, me mueve el piso, me lleva a mostrarles a otros en quién creo, y por qué creo en Él.

Oración: Señor Jesús, enseñarme cómo amar y servir a toda tu creación. Permite que nuestras acciones den cuenta de que nos hemos vuelto verdaderamente a ti. Amén.
