CHOOSE LOVE
ROMANS 5:5
I give you a new
commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you,
So you also must love each
other. This is how everyone will know
that you are my disciples, when you love each other.
John 13:34-35 (CEB)
In life there are
people with whom you cannot avoid a conflict.
They are people who irritate you, whom you dislike, and they take you
out of your comfort zone. These persons
can make you erupt in anger just by being near them. They are people with whom you work, go to
church, and even people you live with in your family.
How can you control the
volcano so that it doesn’t explode and cause profound damage to your
relationships? Jesus gave the commandment to love. And because we love him, we have the capacity
to live each day in his love.
It is not your love,
but the love of God that responds to these moments of irritation. Imagine yourself taking your irritations and
letting your emotional reactions fall into the sea of God’s love that flows through
your heart. They will disappear in the flood, and then you can love from the
overabundance of love for others.
Prayer: Heavenly Father,
remind me of the need to breathe deeply and to choose love, independently of
the circumstances. Help me to love
others the way you do, living by your love and responding to others the way you
do. Amen.

En la vida hay
personas con las que no puedes evitar chocar. Son personas que te
irritan, te caen mal y que te sacan de tus casillas al momento. Esas personas
pueden causar una erupción de emociones dentro de ti, solo estar cerca de
ellas. Son personas con las que trabajas, con las que vas a la iglesia;
incluso, con las que convives dentro de la familia.
¿Cómo puedes
controlar el volcán para que no explote y cause un daño profundo en tus
relaciones?
Jesús dio el
mandamiento de amar. Y porque le amamos a Él, tenemos la capacidad de vivir
cada día en su amor.
No es tu amor,
sino el de Dios el que responde a esos momentos de irritación. Imagínate
tomando tus irritaciones y dejando caer tu reacción emocional en el mar del
amor de Dios que fluye a través de tu corazón. Desaparecen en la inundación y
entonces, puedes amar desde su sobreabundancia
de amor por los demás.
Oración:
Padre Celestial, recuérdame la necesidad de respirar profundamente y
escoger amar, independientemente de las circunstancias. Ayúdame a amar a los
demás como tú lo haces, viviendo por tu amor y respondiéndoles como tú lo
harías. Amén.
