Day
of the Environment
THANKING GOD FOR
THE
WORLD HE GIVES US
GENESIS 1
God saw everything
that he had made,
and indeed, it was
very good.
Genesis 1:31a (NRSV)
God’s
people raise their prayers of thanks on the Day of the Environment because we
believe in a God who does not abandon us despite our sin. The Holy Spirit calls
us to repentance, to a change of mind and heart, a change in our way of life,
for the well-being of a creation of God that has been plundered, the same
creation that God once declared to be very
good.
To the
extent that God’s Spirit moves within us, our own spirit is renewed from within
with a faith and a revived love. Everything we do to lovingly care for God’s
creatures and for a suffering world, we do in faithfulness to the Creator and
as witnesses of the Kingdom that God proclaimed in Christ.
Prayer: Lord, today we give you thanks for such a wonderful world
that you have given to us. We pray that we may be able to care for each piece
pertaining to us so that it may become the beautiful place you want it to be. Amen.

DÁNDOLE GRACIAS POR EL MUNDO
QUE NOS REGALA
GÉNESIS 1
Y vio Dios todo lo que había hecho,
y he aquí que era bueno en gran manera…
Génesis 1:31a
El pueblo de Dios eleva
su oración en acción de gracias en el día del medio ambiente; porque creemos en
un Dios que no nos abandona a pesar de nuestro pecado.
El Espíritu Santo, nos llama
al arrepentimiento, a cambiar nuestras mentes y corazones, y también nuestros modos
de vivir, por el bien de una creación de Dios saqueada; la misma creación que
Dios una vez declaró como: Muy buena.
En la medida que el
Espíritu de Dios se mueve en nosotros, nuestro propio espíritu es renovado
desde adentro, en una fe y un amor revividos.
Todo lo que hacemos en
el cuidado amoroso de las criaturas de Dios y del mundo sufriente, lo hacemos
en fidelidad con el Creador y como testigos del Reino que Dios, en Cristo,
proclamó.
Oración: Gracias te damos Señor en este día, por el mundo
tan hermoso que nos regalaste. Te pedimos que seamos capaces de cuidar cada uno
nuestro pedacito de forma que se convierta en el bello lugar que tú quieres que
sea. Amén.
