YOU, MY REST

ISAIAH 40:28-31

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength;

They will fly up on wings like eagles;

They will run and not be tired,

They will walk and not be weary...

Isaiah 40:31 CEB

Jesus said that we can come to him and he will give us rest.  Being in his presence and trusting in Him gives us the rest that he wants for us.  We can only find this rest when our spirit is in tune with his Word.

While we are battling inside ourselves, we will not find rest.  We should discover what Jesus wants for our lives and then obey.  Rejoice in his Word and you will learn more about Him.  This gives us the direction that we need and the ability to trust.  Only when we understand our salvation and we surrender can we come to him without blame or fear and put our head on his breast.  Safe in his arms we will rest.

Each new day, He gives us the strength we need to fight our battles, as his presence refreshes our spirit.  We will be like well-tended gardens, refreshed and blessed by our loving Creator.

Prayer:  Good God, I am tired, and I need your refreshing Spirit to guide me.  You are the good shepherd who pastors me beside still waters and comforts my soul.  I trust in you.  Amen.

TÚ, MI DESCANSO

ISAÍAS 40:28-31

Pero los que confían en el Señor tendrán siempre

nuevas fuerzas y podrán volar como las águilas;

podrán correr sin cansarse y caminar sin fatigarse.

Isaías 40:31

Jesús dijo que fuésemos a Él y Él nos daría descanso. Estar en su presencia y confiar en Él nos proporciona el reposo que Él desea para nosotros. Sólo podemos hallar este descanso cuando nuestro espíritu está en sintonía con su Palabra.

Mientras estemos batallando en nuestro interior, no hallaremos descanso. Debemos descubrir qué es lo que quiere Jesús para nuestras vidas y entonces, obedecer. Date un festín de su Palabra y aprende más sobre Él. Eso nos dará la dirección que necesitamos y la capacidad de confiar. Sólo cuando entendamos nuestra salvación y nos rindamos podremos venir a Él sin que la culpa o el temor nos molesten, y poner nuestra cabeza sobre su pecho.  A salvo entre sus brazos podremos descansar.

Cada nuevo día, Él nos dará la fuerza que necesitamos para pelear nuestras batallas, así como su presencia refrescará nuestro espíritu. Seremos como jardines bien regados, refrescados y bendecidos por nuestro amoroso Creador.

Oración: Dios bueno, estoy cansada y necesito que tu Espíritu refrescante me guíe. Tú eres ese buen pastor que me pastorea junto a aguas de reposo y conforta mi alma.  Confío en ti. Amén.
