THE FACE OF GOD
NUMBERS 6:25-26
There, he was transfigured before them.
His face shone like the sun, and his
clothes became as white as the light.
Matthew 17:2 (NIV)
When we travel with strangers, it is very interesting to observe
the faces of those around us. Sometimes we see many different realities
reflected in their faces. Some show pain and sadness; others show happiness,
anxiety, nobility, peace, impatience, etc.
The Word of God tells us of Stephen, a prisoner subjected to
violence and suffering, who kept his spirit full of faith and peace. When the
enemies of the Council looked at him they saw the face of an angel.
Some have wondered what Christ’s face was like, and have
depicted him with firm and sweet touches, masculine with an air of saintliness.
Sometimes they have achieved magnificent compositions that inspire many lives,
but they are all weak expressions of reality, because it is impossible to limit
the face of the Son of God to lines and sketches, no matter how beautiful they
may be. God’s power so brightens our life that we can see more than the
magnificence of his glory. It’s the delightful experience of the disciples in
the transfiguration of the Lord, who saw his face shining as the sun and his
clothes as white as the light.
Try today to enjoy the blessings of a luminous life seeking the
face of God and his presence in your life.
Prayer: Lord,
help me to see your face in everyone who approaches me. Amen.

EL ROSTRO DE DIOS
NUMEROS 6:25-26
Allí, delante de ellos, cambió la
apariencia de Jesús. Su cara
brillaba como el sol, y su ropa
se volvió blanca como la luz.
Mateo 17:2
Cuando viajamos acompañados por personas
desconocidas, resulta muy interesante observar el rostro de todos los que nos
rodean. A veces leemos, reflejados en
sus caras, las más diversas realidades. Hay quienes reflejan dolor y tristeza;
otros, por el contrario, alegría, ansiedad, nobleza, paz, impaciencia etc.
La Palabra de Dios nos cuenta de Esteban,
prisionero, sometido a la violencia y a la entrega que mantenía su espíritu
lleno de fe e inundado de paz. Cuando los enemigos del concilio fijaron los
ojos en él vieron el rostro de un ángel.
Hay quienes han querido saber cómo es el rostro de
Cristo y lo han imaginado con rasgos firmes y dulces, varoniles y aureolado de
santidad. A veces se han logrado magníficas composiciones que sirven de inspiración
a muchas vidas, pero todas resultan débiles expresiones de la realidad, porque
el rostro del Hijo de Dios no es posible encerrarlo en líneas y trazos por más
bellos que estos sean. La potencia de Dios ilumina de tal forma nuestra vida que nos permite
ver más que la magnificencia de
su gloria. Es la grata experiencia de los discípulos en la transfiguración del
Señor, que vieron su rostro como el sol y sus vestidos blancos como la luz.
Prueba hoy mismo a disfrutar las bendiciones de
una vida luminosa buscando el rosto de Dios y la presencia de Él en nuestras
vidas.
Oración: Señor, ayúdame a
encontrar tu rostro en cada persona que se me acerca. Amén.
