GOD GRANTS US SECURITY AND STRENGTH

MATTHEW  9: 1-8

But I want you to know that the Son of Man

has authority on earth to forgive sins.

So he said to the paralyzed man,

“Get up, take your mat and go home.”  (NIV) 

Matthew 9: 6,7

 This meditation is based on one of the most well-known of Jesus’s miracles: the healing of a paralytic whose limitation kept him prostrate on a mat.

His friends’ faith in Jesus – and that of the outcast man as well – leads them to bring the sick man to the Lord’s feet, with the trust and hope of recovering from his health and from his constraints.

Jesus, attentive to so much faith, trust and hope, simply says to him. “Get up and walk.” The paralytic straightened himself up and began to walk.

Many times, in the course of our lives, we find ourselves in difficult situations that limit us and leave us disoriented and without the strength to battle and recover. Remember, and keep in mind that Jesus calls us to get up, fight, and win amid the difficulties. He gives us new forces to pick ourselves up and pursue his path.

Prayer:  Lord, renew my strengths to get up and fight, with the confidence of your love and mercy. Amen.

Pues para que ustedes sepan que el Hijo del Hombre tiene autoridad en la tierra para perdonar pecados, “Levántate (dijo éste al paralítico), toma tu camilla y vete a tu casa”

El texto base de esta meditación es uno de los más conocidos milagros de Jesús: la sanación de un paralítico cuya limitación lo tenía postrado en una cama.

La fe en Jesús de sus amigos y la de él mismo los lleva a traer al enfermo a los pies del Señor en la confianza y esperanza de la recuperación de salud y sus limitaciones.

Jesús, atento a tanta fe, confianza y esperanza, sólo le dice: levántate y anda. El paralítico se incorporó y empezó a andar.

Muchas veces, en el transcurso de nuestras vidas, nos vemos en situaciones difíciles que nos limitan y nos dejan desorientados y sin fuerzas para luchar y recuperarnos. Acordémonos y tengamos presente que Jesús nos manda a levantarnos, luchar y vencer en medio de las dificultades. Él nos da nuevas fuerzas para levantarnos y recorrer su camino.

Oración: Señor renueva mis fuerzas para levantarme y luchar con la confianza de tu amor y misericordia. Amén
