THE POWER GOD OFFERS US
LAMENTATIONS 3:22-33

There is no life free from difficulties, trials and temptations. They are
the patrimony common to all humanity. But what’s important is how we act and
react to them. Will we overcome them, or will we permit them to dominate us?
There is only one response to this issue for Christians, one that we can
summarize in these words that someone once spoke, “That a certain situation has
no remedy is a crass blasphemy for a Christian.” If we trust in the word of God,
we’ll be more than conquerors. We can make do with our own strength, but the
power God offers us will greatly surprise us. It’s a marvelous experience that
only Christians can understand.
We often want to remedy our difficulties by forcing the outcome, when we
could emerge with greater ease through the open door of prayer, giving all our
anxiety to the Lord. His promise is “I am here with you to free you.” What he
has promised he will fulfill; and this promise is not vain idle talk, is not a
pretty theory to convert us to the Lord, as if it were a fishhook. It’s a reality. It’s a reality that millions
of people have been able to verify, and verify every day: that the Lord is with
us, and that he gives us the power to face trials and difficulties. It’s real,
true, and secure. Go to the Lord, trust in his promises and you will see the
positive results for yourself.
Prayer: Oh Lord, you have opened the eyes of our
hearts so that they may be able to know you. We implore you to be our support
and our strength. Be the salvation of the oppressed, have mercy on the humble,
raise up those who have fallen, and reveal yourself to those in need. Amen.

Bueno es esperar en silencio
la salvación de Jehová
Lamentaciones 3:26
No hay vida que esté libre de dificultades,
pruebas y tentaciones. Son patrimonio común de toda la humanidad, pero lo
importante es cómo actuamos y cómo reaccionamos ante todo esto. ¿Las venceremos
o dejaremos que ellas nos dominen? Para el cristiano hay solamente una
respuesta sobre este asunto, que podemos resumir en estas palabras que alguien
ha dicho: “Es crasa blasfemia que un cristiano diga que cierta situación no
tiene remedio”.
Si confiamos en la Palabra de Dios, entonces
seremos más que vencedores. Con nuestras propias fuerzas podemos hacer, pero
nos asombrará grandemente el poder que Dios nos ofrece. Es una maravillosa
experiencia que solamente los cristianos pueden comprender. Con frecuencia
queremos remediar nuestras dificultades forzando las salidas, cuando podemos
salir con mayor facilidad a través de la puerta abierta que es la oración y
podemos entregar al Señor toda nuestra ansiedad. Su promesa es: Contigo
estoy para librarte. Lo que Él ha prometido lo cumplirá. Y esta promesa no
se queda en palabrería vana, no es una teoría bonita para convertirnos al
Señor, como si fuera un anzuelo. Es una realidad, es la realidad que millones
de personas han podido comprobar y comprueban cada día: que el Señor está con
nosotros, y que nos da el poder para enfrentarnos con pruebas y dificultades;
es algo real, verdadero y seguro. Acude al Señor, confía en sus promesas y
verás por ti mismo los resultados positivos.
Oración: Oh Señor, tú has abierto los ojos de nuestros corazones para que puedan
conocerte. A ti te imploramos que seas nuestro socorro y nuestra fortaleza, sé
la salvación de los oprimidos, ten piedad de los humildes, levanta a los que
han caído y revélate a los que están en necesidad. Amén.
