PEACE

ISAIAH 52:7

This is the message of peace he sent to the Israelites by proclaiming the good news through Jesus Christ:  He is Lord of all!

Acts 10:36 (CEB)

We are probably not all among those who suffer the most on the earth.  We must recognize that all around us there is terrible poverty and frightful suffering.  Maybe many of us endure a secret shame that we cannot speak about with anyone.  Maybe we hide it from our peers.  Nevertheless, it pursues us constantly, it torments us and at times drowns us in a deep sadness.  We work to forget it, but we can’t find a way to do that.  We also avoid the hours of loneliness during which we find ourselves inexorably face to face with ourselves.

Who will free us from the thoughts that slowly consume us?  If some day and for a few minutes we can open our heart to a friendly person, we will certainly appreciate his understanding and care.  But unfortunately, this does not give us the peace that our soul seeks.

All of us crave peace.  Who will give us the true inner peace?  Only Jesus. 

Prayer:  We ask you today to flood the whole world with your holy peace, blessed Lord.  Amen.

LA PAZ

ISAÍAS 52:7

Dios envió mensaje...anunciando el evangelio

de la paz por medio de Jesucristo

Hechos 10:36

Probablemente no todos formamos parte de los que más sufren en la tierra. Porque debemos reconocer que a nuestro alrededor hay terribles miserias materiales como también espantosos padecimientos. Tal vez muchos de nosotros sobrellevemos una pena secreta de la cual no podemos hablar con nadie. La ocultamos a nuestros semejantes. Sin embrago, nos persigue constantemente, nos atormenta y a veces nos hunde en una profunda tristeza. Procuramos olvidarla, pero no lo conseguimos. También evitamos las horas de soledad durante las cuales nos encontramos inexorablemente frente a frente con nosotros mismos.

¿Quién nos librará de los pensamientos que nos consumen lentamente? Si algún día y durante algunos minutos pudimos abrir nuestro corazón a una persona amiga, con toda seguridad apreciamos su comprensión y afecto. Pero desdichadamente, con ello no conseguimos la paz que nuestra alma buscaba.

Todos ansiamos la paz. ¿Quién nos dará esa verdadera paz interior?  Solo Jesús puede dárnosla.

Oración: Te pedimos hoy que inundes toda la tierra, con tu santa paz, bendito Señor. Amén.
