GATES AND BARRIERS

PROVERBS 4:11-12

When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; …

Proverbs 4:12a (NIV)

There used to be a kind of gate that opened by itself, used at times on rural roads. It remained solid and secure in the middle of the road when a traveler approached it. If the driver stopped before reaching it, the gate did not open. But if anybody went right up to it, the wheels of their car would press some springs under the road, and the gate would open backward to let them pass. They had to go right up to the gate, or else it would not open.

This illustrates how we can pass through all barriers in the road of duty. The Lord never builds a bridge of faith except under the feet of the traveler filled with faith. If He built the bridge at a specific distance ahead of us, it would not be a bridge of faith. When we can see it, faith is not involved.

Is there a big barrier in the road to your duty at this time? All you have to do is to go up to it in the name of the Lord and it will disappear.

Prayer: We ask you, Lord, that we may be able to overcome all barriers with your strength and our faith.  In Jesus’ name. Amen.

PROVERBIOS 4:11-12

Cuando anduviereis, no se estrecharán tus pasos…

Proverbios 4:12a

Existía antiguamente una clase de puerta que se abría por sí misma, utilizada a veces en los caminos rurales. Permanecía firme y segura en medio del camino cuando un viajero se aproximaba a ella. Si él se paraba antes de llegar a ella, la puerta no se abría. Pero si  conducía rectamente hacia ella, las ruedas de su coche oprimen unos resortes que hay debajo del camino y la puerta se eleva hacia atrás para permitirle pasar. Él debe empujar derecho hacia la puerta cerrada o, de lo contrario, la puerta no se abrirá.

Esto ilustra la manera de pasar todas las barreras en el camino del deber. El Señor nunca edifica un puente de fe excepto bajo los pies del viajero lleno de fe. Si Él edificase el puente a una cierta distancia delante de nosotros, entonces no sería un puente de fe. Aquello que vemos, no pertenece a la fe.

¿Hay una gran barrera en el camino de tu deber en estos momentos? Lo único que tienes que hacer es ir a ella en el nombre del Señor y desaparecerá.

Oración: Te pedimos Señor, que seamos capaces de superar todas las barreras con tu fortaleza y nuestra fe.  En el nombre de Jesucristo. Amén.
