LET US TRUST IN
GOD
HABAKKUK 3:17-19
GOD, the Lord, is
my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
and makes me tread
upon the heights.
Habakkuk 3:19 (NRSV)
The failure of
the harvest and the death of the flocks would devastate Judah. However,
Habakkuk affirmed that even amid famine, he would rejoice in the Lord.
When nothing
makes sense to us, let’s remember that God strengthens us. God will give those
who follow him complete confidence in difficult situations. They will run like
deer across rugged and dangerous terrain. God will exercise his justice and
will completely wipe out evil in due time. Meanwhile, the people of God need to
live in the strength of his Spirit, trusting in the final victory over evil.
Let’s live each
day with its own tempo; let’s not lose hope over those things we cannot solve;
let’s trust that God will help us to bear our burdens. Let’s be patient, and,
as the popular song says, “In bad times, put on a good face, whatever happens .
. .” I ask you to say to God what
Habakkuk said: “My God, you give me new strength.”
Prayer: Lord, our confidence is in you. May it be your will and not
ours. Amen.

CONFIEMOS EN DIOS
HABACUC 3:17-19
Porque el Señor me da fuerzas; da a mis piernas la
ligereza
del ciervo y me lleva a alturas

El fracaso de la cosecha
y la muerte de los rebaños devastarían a Judá. Sin embargo, Habacuc afirmó que
aun en medio de la hambruna, se regocijaría en el Señor.
Cuando nada tenga
sentido para nosotros, recordemos que Dios nos fortalece. Dios dará a sus
seguidores una confianza plena en los tiempos difíciles. Correrán como ciervos
a través de terrenos escabrosos y peligrosos. Dios ejercerá su justicia y
terminará completamente con el mal a su debido tiempo.
Mientras tanto, el
pueblo de Dios necesita vivir en la fortaleza de su Espíritu, confiando en la
victoria final sobre el mal.
Vivamos cada día con su
propio afán, vamos a no desesperarnos por aquellas cosas que no podemos solucionar,
vamos a confiar en que Dios nos ayuda a llevar nuestras cargas.
Seamos pacientes, y como
dice una canción popular: “al mal tiempo, buena cara, que toda pasa…”. Les
invito a que le digamos a nuestro Dios como le dijo Habacuc: Dios mío, tú me das nuevas fuerzas…
Oración: Señor, nuestra confianza está en ti. Sea tu
voluntad y no la nuestra. Amén.
