LIVING IN THE EARTHLY WORLD
2 PETER 3:9-14
Since everything will be destroyed in
this way, what kind of people ought you to be?
You ought to live holy and godly lives…
2 Peter 3:11 (NIV)
The apostle Peter said this of earthly
things: Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people
ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives…
As long as this world lasts and we have
the privilege of living in it, it is essential that our actions confirm that we
are working with God and serving humanity, dedicated to bringing souls to
Christ. He relies on our loyalty and demands that in all places we testify to
his great power. Every soul is infinitely valuable to the Lord.
If we see the world as a stage and all
humans as actors in this wonderful drama, no one can fail to play his or her
role, regardless of where they come from, west, east, north, or south, whether
their skin is white, black, yellow, or brown. All are sons and daughters of a
single God and Father. The main thing is to work together for the regeneration
of souls, always directed by the omnipotent God.
He expects us to be instruments for
advancing his Kingdom. Let us carry out our role in its establishment.
Prayer: Lord, help us to be loyal workers in your vineyard. Amen.

santidad y devoción deben vivir ustedes!

El apóstol
Pedro declara en cuanto a las cosas terrenales: Puesto que todo va a ser destruido de esa manera, ¡con cuánta
santidad y devoción deben vivir ustedes!
Entretanto que
el mundo subsista y nos toque el privilegio de vivir en él, es preciso que
nuestra actuación compruebe que somos colaboradores con Dios y servidores de la humanidad,
dedicados a conducir las almas a Cristo.
Él confía en nuestra lealtad y exige que en todas partes testifiquemos de su
gran poder. Para el Señor cada alma es de infinito valor.
Si consideramos
al mundo como escenario y a todos los seres como actores en tan maravilloso
drama, ninguno podrá escapar del papel que le corresponde desempeñar y tampoco
se tomará en cuenta su procedencia: si es del occidente, del oriente, del norte
o del sur; si es de tez blanca, negra, amarilla o cobriza. Todos son hijos e
hijas de un solo Dios y Padre. Lo trascendental es trabajar unidos por la
regeneración de las almas, dirigidos siempre por el Señor todopoderoso.
Él espera que
seamos instrumentos en el adelanto de su Reino. Cumplamos, pues, con la parte
que nos corresponde en su establecimiento.
Oración: Señor,
ayúdanos a ser obreros y obreras leales en tu viña. Amén.
