COME AND STAY AT MY HOME

ACTS 16:11-15

. . . come and stay at my home.

Acts 16:15 (NRSV)

            In this passage we see the participation of women in the community. Lydia found an oasis amid that spiritual and moral desert which prevailed in that region. She teaches us the commitment we must make in accepting Jesus Christ into our lives. Spiritual growth through prayer and reading of the Bible, which is God’s Word, shows us the need for a surrender as Christians to the service of those near us.

            Every human has the need to be helped, loved, and transformed sometime in their lives.

            Today the participation of women in our communities is very important, and like Lydia, who didn’t hesitate to invite them home to her house, we should be an example and collaborator with the responsibility and commitment to God’s work. Let’s open our home to the gospel, to our neighbor, and let’s transform lives with our witness, just like the faithful Lydia.

Prayer: Lord, allow us, like Lydia, to help those who need us. Amen.

VENGAN A ALOJARSE EN MI CASA

HECHOS 16:11-15

Hechos 16:15

En este pasaje vemos la participación de la mujer en la comunidad. Lidia encontró un oasis en medio de aquel desierto espiritual y moral que prevalecía en aquella región. Nos enseña el compromiso que hacemos al aceptar a Jesucristo en nuestras vidas. El crecimiento espiritual a través de la oración, y la lectura de la Biblia, que es la Palabra de Dios, nos indica la necesidad de una entrega como cristianos y cristianas en el servicio y la ayuda al prójimo.

Todo ser humano tiene la necesidad de ser ayudado, amado y transformado en algún momento de su vida.

En este tiempo de hoy, la participación de la mujer es muy importante en nuestras comunidades; y como Lidia, que no titubeó al invitarlos a hospedarse en su casa, debemos ser ejemplo y colaborar con responsabilidad y compromiso en la obra de Dios. Abramos nuestra casa al evangelio, al prójimo y transformemos vidas con nuestro testimonio, así como lo hizo la fiel Lidia.

Oración: Señor, permite que como Lidia podamos ayudar al que necesite de nosotros. Amén.
