FAMILY, A CHRISTIAN CELL
DEUTERONOMY
4:1-9
Only
be careful, and watch yourselves closely
so that you do not forget the things your eyes
have seen,
or
let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children

To live
under a same roof, and to have the bonds of blood that define the family aren’t
sufficient to unite its members. The true connection of a family is
love, faith in our Lord, and good relations between those who are called to
live together. For the family, the children constitute the most valuable treasure.
Parents begin to attend them before birth, because God is also there with them,
so that the best living conditions are provided to the mother during pregnancy
to ensure a happy birth. The sons and daughters need care, love, time, tenderness
and Christian instruction. And this work primarily belongs to the family.
We
frequently hear children say that when they grow up, they want to be like their
father or their mother. This means that they have their parents as models. For
that reason, the parent’s behavior needs to be an example so that the children
imitate them. This is achieved if the parents have a personal relation with the
Lord Jesus Christ, who revealed to us with his testimony the fruits of the
spirit: love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control.
Effective
help is received only from Jesus Christ, so that each member of the family
practices love in daily life, not only as a sentiment, but rather as a mode of
life that can only be found in God.
You
and the people who are in closest contact with children, instructing them, speaking
to them of the Lord’s greatness, will contribute to the adequate development of
their Christian education so that they come to know God and his teachings more
every day.
Prayer: We ask you Lord for the stability, growth and well-being
of families. In Jesus. Amen.

CRISTIANA
DEUTERONOMIO 4:1-9
Por tanto, guárdate y guarda tu alma con diligencia...antes bien,
las enseñarás a tus hijos, y a los hijos de tus hijos
Deuteronomio 4:9
Vivir bajo un mismo techo y tener los vínculos de sangre que definen a la familia,
no son suficientes para unir a sus miembros. El verdadero enlace de una familia
es el amor, la fe en nuestro Señor y las buenas relaciones entre los que están
llamados a vivir juntos. Para la familia, los niños constituyen el más preciado
tesoro. Se comienzan a atender desde antes de nacer, porque Dios también está
allí junto a ellos, por lo que se les proporcionan las mejores condiciones de
vida a la madre durante el embarazo que le aseguren un parto feliz. Los hijos o
hijas necesitan cuidados, amor, tiempo, ternura e instrucción cristiana. Y este
trabajo es de la familia en primera instancia. Frecuentemente le oímos decir a
los niños y a las niñas que cuando ellos sean grandes quieren ser como mamá o
papá. Esto demuestra que tienen a sus padres como modelos. Por esa razón su
conducta tiene que ser ejemplo para que los hijos la imiten. Esto se logra si los
padres tienen una relación personal con el Señor Jesucristo, quien nos reveló
con su testimonio cuáles son los frutos del espíritu: amor, alegría, paciencia,
amabilidad, bondad, fidelidad y dominio propio. Solo de Jesucristo se recibe la
ayuda eficaz para que cada miembro de la familia practique el amor en la vida
diaria; no sólo como un sentimiento, sino como un modo de vida que sólo en Dios
se puede encontrar. Tú y las personas que están en contacto más estrecho con
los niños, instruyéndolos, hablándoles de la grandeza del Señor, contribuirán
al desarrollo adecuado de su educación cristiana para que lleguen a conocer
cada día más a Dios y sus enseñanzas.
Oración: Te pedimos Señor, por la estabilidad,
el crecimiento y el bienestar de las familias. Por Jesús, amén.
