AND
YOU—DO YOU DO THE SAME?
Romans
2: 1- 11
So every single one of
you who judge others is without excuse.
You condemn yourself
when you judge another person …
Romans 2:1 (CEB)
No one should try to
direct others to do the right thing while they are unable to correct their own
conduct. Before trying to influence
others to live a better life, we should submit ourselves to the scrutiny of the
divine reflector and reform ourselves according to the will of God. We will discover, in this precise moment,
that our need to be saved through Jesus Christ is as great or greater than that
of the person whom we have been judging.
Each time we point to someone with one finger, the other three fingers
point back at ourselves. We should keep in
our hearts that only God can judge according to the truth and even so it is not
the judgement of God which guides the people to repent, but God’s infinite
mercy and good will for all of us.
Many are the blessings
received as the good works that we can do by grace, yet they do not confer any
special treatment nor privilege other than being responsible to obey and
glorify God.
Prayer: Good God, you are the God of all, for all and
with all; you who are our God, my God, edify me in your truth, so that I can
recognize the sins that have hidden behind my sins and learn, each time that I
point my finger at the faults of others, that you don’t take exception to
persons. Amen.

Romanos 2:
1- 11
Por lo
cual eres inexcusable, oh hombre, quien quiera que seas tú que juzgas; pues en lo que juzgas a otro te condenas a ti
mismo…
Romanos 2:1
Nadie
debe tratar de dirigir a otros a hacer lo recto mientras fracasa en corregir su
propia conducta. Antes de procurar ejercer influencia en los demás para que
lleven una vida mejor, debemos someternos a nosotros mismos al escrutinio del
reflector divino y reformarnos conforme a la voluntad de Dios. Descubriremos,
en ese preciso instante, que nuestra necesidad de ser salvos por medio de
Jesucristo es tan grande o más, que la de la persona a quien juzgábamos. Cada
vez que señalamos a alguien con un dedo, los otros tres señalan a nosotros
mismos. Debemos tener presente en nuestros corazones que solo Dios puede juzgar
según la verdad y aun así no es el juicio de Dios el que guía a las personas al
arrepentimiento, sino su infinita misericordia y bondad para con todas y todos.
Tanto
las bendiciones recibidas como las buenas obras que por su gracia podamos
hacer, no nos confieren un trato especial ni otro privilegio que no sea el ser
más responsables de obedecerle y glorificarle.
Oración: Dios
bueno, tú que eres el Dios de todas y de todos, y para con todas y con todos;
tú que eres nuestro Dios, mi Dios, edifícame en tu verdad, para poder reconocer
los pecados que se esconden detrás de mis pecados y aprenda, cada vez que con
mi dedo intente señalar faltas en los demás, puesto que no haces tú acepción de
personas. Amén.
