HOPE SPRINGS FORTH

ISAIAH 11:1-10 

The spirit of the Lord will rest upon him. The Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord.  (NIV)

Isaiah 11:2 

The Book of Isaiah contains a hopeful message that fills our lives with the strength to continue to go forward with the challenge of living joyfully. Written in different periods of the people of Israel’s history, it maintains as a common axis the hope of divine restoration and the certainty of salvation that God works in many ways, although at times it’s hidden from us.

We can, thusly, try to continue modeling Jesus’ life in our own, in a way that transmits peace and trust, and thereby accompanying those who journey with us at our side. It’s difficult to speak of hope in a world where inequality is mainstream.

The beautiful vision of this promise of domestic and wild animals cohabitating is the certainty that the human being, the image of God and administrator of creation, can live in peace and harmony given their differences.    

To be Christian is to be bearer of good news. When God’s creatures walk together the hope blossoms that unites us as God’s people, a people that follows Jesus, a barefoot walker with a cheerful smile, who invites us to embrace and protect each other with fidelity and love.

Prayer:  Oh God, grant us the strength so that, inspired by your Spirit, we can live this time in love and hope. In Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

BROTA LA ESPERANZA.

ISAIAS 11:1-10 

Y reposará sobre Él, el Espíritu del SEÑOR, Espíritu de sabiduría y de inteligencia, Espíritu de consejo y de poder, Espíritu de conocimiento y de temor del SEÑOR.

Isaías 11:2 

El Libro de Isaías contiene un mensaje esperanzador que llena nuestras vidas de fortaleza para seguir adelante con el desafío de vivir en alegría; escrito en diferentes períodos de la historia del pueblo de Israel, mantiene como ejes comunes el de la esperanza en la restauración divina y la certeza de la salvación que Dios obra, de múltiples maneras, aunque por momentos se nos mantengan ocultas.

Podemos por ello tratar de ir modelando la vida de Jesús en nuestras vidas, de modo que trasmitan paz y confianza, y acompañando así a los que a nuestro lado caminan. Es difícil hablar de esperanza en un mundo transversalizado por la desigualdad. La visión hermosa de esta promesa de animales domésticos y salvajes cohabitando, es la certeza de que el ser humano, imagen de Dios y administrador de la creación, puede vivir en paz y armonía en medio de sus diferencias.

Ser cristiano es ser portador de buenas noticias. Cuando las criaturas de Dios caminan juntos, brota la esperanza que nos une como pueblo de Dios; un pueblo que sigue a Jesús, caminante de pies descalzos y sonrisa alegre, que nos invita a abrazarnos y protegernos mutuamente con fidelidad y amor.  

Oración:  Oh Dios, concédenos la fuerza para que, inspirados por tu Espíritu, podamos vivir este tiempo en amor y esperanza. Por Jesucristo nuestro Señor. Amén
