SHARED JOYS

LUKE 1: 39-45

       At that time Mary got ready and hurried

to a town in the hill country of Judea.  (NIV)

Luke 1: 39b

Mary recently learned the news that she’d be a mother. She was considered so special that no one kept track of her; rather, she left in a hurry to visit her cousin who was also pregnant, and this was a pleasant tiding for Mary. Her cousin Elizabeth, perhaps, was her confidant, the most special person for her, with whom she wanted.to share her joy personally. It seems that Elizabeth was so happy with the arrival of her cousin that even the child in her womb jumped.   

It’s always good to have someone to share our joys with. Let’s not keep concealed inside us what makes us happy.  There will always be someone to share our joys. Let’s live in such a manner that other people want to come quickly to our sides to celebrate and share an important motive. Let’s be open doors, that even our interior may jump for joy; that the happiness of others around us be ours as well.

The blessings of God are to be shared. Then let us testify, and also rejoice with those who rejoice themselves, as the Scripture exhorts us.   

Prayer: God of our joys, may we be for others a faithful testimony of the blessings you give us. Amen.

LUCAS 1: 39-45

       María se fue de prisa a un pueblo de la región

montañosa de Judea     

Lucas 1: 39b

 María recién supo la noticia de que sería madre. La consideraba tan especial que no se la guardó para ella, sino que fue de prisa a visitar a su prima, quien también estaba embarazada y era una grata noticia así para María. Isabel tal vez era su confidente, la persona más especial para ella, con quien quería compartir su alegría personalmente. Isabel parece que se puso tan alegre con la llegada de su prima que hasta la criatura saltó en el vientre.

Siempre es bueno tener a alguien con quien compartir nuestras alegrías. No guardemos en nuestro interior aquello que nos hace felices. Siempre habrá alguien que comparta nuestras alegrías. Vivamos de tal manera que otras personas quieran ir rápidamente a nuestro encuentro a celebrar  y compartir un motivo importante. Seamos de puertas abiertas, que hasta nuestro interior salte de alegría, que la felicidad de quienes nos rodean sea la nuestra también.

Las bendiciones de Dios son para ser compartidas. Testifiquemos, pues, y también gocémonos con quienes se gozan, como nos exhortan las Escrituras.

Oración: Dios de nuestras alegrías, permite que podamos ser para otras personas fiel testimonio de las bendiciones que tú nos proporcionas. Amén.
