New Year
IN THE NEW YEAR
GALATIANS 3:22-28
I have been
crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live,
but it is Christ
who lives in me.…

Today is the first day of the year, a moment that is always
propitious for two important perspectives: one that goes to the past time that
we have lived, and another that rises in the future that is to come.
As far as yesterday is concerned, it summons a great lesson:
the experience of everything that was loaded with facts, of incidents that live
in memory. As for the days to come, there is always the most fervent desire to
achieve the best for life, to aspire to all that life lavishes on us with the
best that can exist.
However, it is certain that the new year should not be just
any ordinary time, but one of deep reflection so that as believers we hold
within us the best thoughts, the most positive balance, so that we
spontaneously have a felt and sincere evolution, and so that the useless and
unpleasant, the lost hours or negative actions can be left behind, with an
experience of renewal and forgiveness.
Of course, in the light of all, we cling to a hopeful
purpose of making our Lord Jesus Christ the center of life so that the past and
the future have the best lessons and we can sustain ourselves in Him, so that
we wisely value the past and wait for the future.
Prayer: Lord and Father, and the end of one year and the beginning
of new one, there is in all of us a word of gratitude for all your blessings in
the time that has passed. You have been loving and good. Now we pray, O Father,
for your presence in us for all that remains in this life, until we arrive in
your company for all eternity. Amén.

Año Nuevo
EN EL AÑO NUEVO

Gálatas 2:20
Hoy es el primer dÃa del año,
momento siempre propicio para dos miradas importantes: una que va al tiempo
pasado que hemos vivido, y otra que se eleva en el futuro que ha de venir.
En lo que concierne al ayer
requiere una gran lección: la experiencia de todo lo que fue cargado de hechos,
de incidentes que viven en el recuerdo. Sobre los dÃas que han de venir,
siempre el deseo más ferviente de lograr lo mejor para la vida, de aspirar a
que la vida nos prodigue lo mejor que pueda existir.
Pero es lo cierto que el año
nuevo no debe ser momento cualquiera, sino de honda reflexión para que como
creyentes haya en nosotros los mejores pensamientos, el balance más positivo,
para que tengamos espontáneamente una evolución sentida y sincera, y pueda
quedar atrás lo inútil y desagradable, las horas perdidas o acciones negativas,
con experiencia de renovación y perdón.
Por supuesto, a la luz de
todo, un propósito esperanzador de hacer de nuestro Señor Jesucristo el centro
de la vida de modo tal que el pasado y el futuro tengan las mejores lecciones y
podamos sustentarnos en Él, para sabiamente valorar el pasado y esperar lo
porvenir.
Oración: Señor y Padre, al terminar un año y comenzar el nuevo,
hay en todos una palabra de gratitud por todas tus bendiciones en el tiempo
transcurrido. Tú has sido amoroso y bueno. Ahora rogamos, Oh Padre, tu
presencia en nosotros por todo lo que nos queda en esta vida, hasta lograr tu
compañÃa por toda la eternidad. Amén.
