HE GUIDES US UNTIL DEATH

PSALM 48

This is God, our God, forever and always!  He is the one who will lead us even to the very end.

Psalm 48:14 (CEB)

            We need a guide.  Sometimes we would give all that we have just so that someone would tell us exactly what we should do and guide us where to go.  We want to do right, but we do not know which path we have to follow.  If we only had a guide! 

            The Lord helps us and serves as a guide.  He knows the path and will guide us until we arrive in peace at the end of our journey.  Surely, we could not find counsel more infallible.  Let us put ourselves absolutely beneath his order and we will never lose our way.  May He be our God and we will find that He will be our guide.  If we continue to follow his law, we will not lose the straight path of life, given that primarily we will learn to help ourselves, trusting in Him for each step that we take. 

            Our comfort is that this God is our God eternally and for always.  This promise of divine direction implies security during life: present salvation, guidance until the last moment, and after death, a perpetual blessing.  Until death he will guide us and later, we will dwell with him eternally. 

            Should we not be looking for these blessings in youth, rejoicing in them in the mature years and resting in them in the twilight years? 

Prayer:  Lord, allow that today we will search for your guidance before getting up to go out into the world.  Amen.

ÉL NOS GUIARA HASTA LA MUERTE

SALMO 48

Porque este Dios es Dios nuestro eternamente y para siempre; Él nos guiará aun más allá de la muerte

Salmo 48:14

            Necesitamos un guía. Algunas veces daríamos todo lo que tenemos para que nos dijera exactamente lo que debemos hacer y a dónde dirigirnos. Queremos hacer lo recto, pero no sabemos cuál camino tenemos que seguir. ¡Si tuviésemos un guía!

            El Señor nos ayuda y nos sirve de guía. Él conoce el camino y nos guiará hasta que lleguemos en paz al fin de nuestro viaje. Seguramente no deseamos consejo más infalible. Pongámonos absolutamente bajo su mando y nunca perderemos la senda. Que Él sea nuestro Dios y encontraremos que Él será nuestro guía. Si seguimos su ley, no perderemos el camino derecho de la vida, dado que primeramente aprenderemos a apoyarnos en Él para cada paso que demos.

            Nuestro consuelo es que este Dios es Dios nuestro eternamente y para siempre. Esta promesa de dirección divina implica seguridad durante la vida: salvación presente, dirección hasta nuestra última hora, y después bendición perpetua. Hasta la muerte nos conducirá y después moraremos con Él eternamente.

            ¿No debiéramos buscar estas bendiciones en la juventud, regocijarnos en ellas en la edad madura y reposarnos en ellas en la vejez?

Oración: Señor, permite que en este día busquemos tu dirección antes de levantarnos para salir al mundo. Amén.
