CRY TO ME AND I WILL RESPOND TO YOU

JEREMIAH 33:1-4

Call to me and I will answer and reveal to you wondrous secrets that you haven’t known.

Jeremiah 33:3 (CEB)

            God encourages us to pray.  Some tell us that prayer is a pious exercise that only influences the people who practice it.  The Christian experience denies this incredulous assertion.  Here Jehovah, the living God, promises expressly that he will answer the prayer of his servants. We call to Him anew and we do not doubt that He hears us and answers us.  He who gave us an ear, doesn’t he hear us?  Don’t you think that He who gave parents love for their children will not listen to the calls of his own sons and daughters?   

            God will respond to his people who call in their anguish.  He has marvelous reserves for them.  That which none had seen, heard or dreamed he will do in favor of them.  He will discover new blessings if it is necessary.  He will scan sea and earth to feed them, he will send someone to help them if their hardship thus requires it.  He surprises us with his grace and will have us say:  never have we seen such as this.

Prayer: Lord, you only ask of us that we call to you.  Allow us to voluntarily and with great certainty pray to you every moment of our lives.  Amen.

CLAMA A MI Y TE RESPONDERE

JEREMIAS 33:1-4

Clama a mí, y yo te responderé, y te enseñaré cosas grandes y ocultas que tú no conoces

Jeremías 33:3

            Dios nos anima a que oremos. Nos dicen algunos que la oración es un ejercicio piadoso que solamente influye en las personas que de esto se ocupan. La experiencia cristiana desmiente esta aserción incrédula. Aquí Jehová, el Dios vivo, promete expresamente que contestará la oración de sus siervos. Clamemos a Él de nuevo y no dudemos que Él nos oye y nos contesta. ¿El que plantó el oído, no oirá? ¿El que dio a los padres amor para con sus hijos no escuchará los clamores de sus propios hijos e hijas?

            Dios responderá a su pueblo suplicante que clama en su angustia. Él tiene maravillas reservadas para ellos. Lo que nunca han visto, oído o soñado lo hará a favor de ellos. Él descubrirá nuevas bendiciones si es necesario. Él escudriñará mar y tierra para alimentarlos, enviará para socorrerlos si su apuro así lo requiere. Él nos sorprenderá con su gracia y nos hará decir: nunca tal hemos visto.

Oración: Señor, tú solamente pides de nosotros que clamemos a ti. Permite que voluntariamente y con plena certeza oremos a ti en cada momento de nuestras vidas. Amén.
