WE HAVE TO BE BORN AGAIN
JOHN 3: 1-7
I assure you that he who is not born again
will not see the Kingdom of Heaven. (NIV)
John 3:3
Nicodemus goes at night with his doubts and fears to see
Jesus, and one of the first things he says to him is, “Master, we know God has
sent you to teach us, because no one could perform the miracles you do if God wasn’t
with him.” When Nicodemus finishes, Jesus changes the subject, he goes much further
than what the Jew believed fundamental, saying to him, ”It’s necessary for you
to be born again.”
External signs were beside the point. Performing miracles was
immaterial. That’s why Jesus changed the direction of Nicodemus’ conversation.
All your understanding of the Bible or theology isn’t enough.
Neither does the amount of Sundays you attend church, or if you worship with
hands on high, in silence, or in the style of the more traditional churches. These
signs aren’t enough. It’s necessary that one’s entire life be worship, and not
theoretical worship, rather in such a manner we can show a new and different life in which our brothers and sisters may feel that Faith is
no longer just a word, but has become solidarity, commitment, and accompaniment.
And those brothers and sisters don’t necessarily need to see or hear our words,
but rather feel the harmony and peace.
Jesus orders us to be born again. Is it difficult?
Prayer: Father, may we be reborn anew
each day. Amen.

TENEMOS QUE NACER DE
NUEVO
San Juan 3: 1-7
Te aseguro que el que
no nace de nuevo, no puede ver el reino
de Dios.
San Juan 3:3
Nicodemo
va de noche a ver a Jesús con sus dudas, temores, y una de las primeras cosas
que le dice a Jesús es: Maestro, sabemos que Dios te ha enviado a enseñarnos,
porque nadie podría hacer los milagros que tú haces, si Dios no estuviera con
él. Cuando el hombre termina con la idea
que traía, Jesús le cambia el tema, va más allá de lo que el judío creía
fundamental y le dice: Te es necesario nacer de nuevo.
No
basta con las seññales externas, no basta con hacer milagros por eso Jesús le
cambia el rumbo a la conversación de Nicodemo.
No
basta con todos tus conocimientos sobre Biblia o teologí¡a, no basta tampoco la
cantidad de domingos que acudas al templo, o si adoras con las manos en alto,
en silencio, o al estilo de las iglesias más tradicionales. No basta con estas
señales, es necesario que la vida toda sea adoración, y no adoración en teoría
sino de manera tal que podamos mostrar una vida nueva y diferente, en que el
otro o la otra sienta que la Fe deja de ser palabra y se convierta en
solidaridad, compromiso, y acompañamiento, en que el otro y la otra no
necesiten ver, ni oír nuestras palabras, sino sentir la armonía y la paz. Nacer
de nuevo eso es lo que nos ordena Jesús. ¿Resulta muy difíícil?
Oración: Permite Padre que cada día podamos renacer de
nuevo. Amén.
