DOING GOOD

MARK 7:31-37

Trust in the Lord, and do good.

Psalm 37:3

In the story of the deaf mute, Jesus took him aside and healed him. When the multitude realized that Jesus had healed him, they reacted saying: Everything he does is good. There are many Gospel texts that tell of the good works of Jesus for the people. Because of this, the apostle Peter will say of Jesus in one of his sermons to the first Christians, that He walked about doing good.

           

            There are many Gospel texts that tell of the Good Works of Jesus for the people. Jesus gives us the example that we also can do good things for others without calling attention to ourselves. Christ wants to go on doing good among us. Christ wants to go on liberating people from want, diseases, natural calamities, from spiritual ills, and for that he counts on us. 

            This good news moves us to ask: Are there people or situations that need my help today? What could I do for them? How can I show them that God loves them so greatly? Will I be able to do good without calling attention to myself?

Prayer: Lord, accept me as a collaborator in your work to do good to others. Here I am Lord, I want to serve you. Amen

HACER LO BUENO

MARCOS 7:31-37

Confía en el Señor y haz lo bueno.

Salmo  37:3

            Al sordomudo del relato, Jesús lo aparta a un lado y lo cura. La multitud cuando se da cuenta de que Jesús había curado al sordomudo, reaccionó diciendo: Todo lo hace bien.  Son muchos los textos evangélicos que relatan las obras buenas de Jesús en favor de la gente. Por eso el apóstol Pedro dirá de Jesús, en uno de sus discursos a los primeros cristianos, que pasó haciendo el bien.

            Jesús nos da el ejemplo para que también nosotros hagamos buenas cosas para otros sin mucho ruido. Cristo desea seguir haciendo el bien entre nosotros. Cristo desea seguir liberando a las personas de las necesidades materiales, de las enfermedades, de las calamidades naturales, de los males espirituales, y para ello cuenta con nosotros.

            Esta buena noticia nos mueve a preguntarnos: ¿Hay personas o situaciones que necesitan de mi ayuda hoy? ¿Qué podría yo hacer para ellas? ¿Cómo puedo mostrarles a estas personas que Dios les ama mucho? ¿Podré hacer el bien a los demás sin atraer la atención hacia mí mismo?

Oración: Señor, acéptame como colaborador de tu obra para hacer el bien a los demás. Aquí estoy, Señor, quiero servirte. Amén
