FEEL PRAISE
Psalm
30
They
devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of
bead and the prayers.
Acts 2:42 (NRSV)
In Old
Testament times, priests performed their duties in the Temple, sacrificing
animals, sprinkling blood, and burning offerings. It was a hard job. The
earliest Christian clerics ministered under primitive conditions, alongside
roadsides and along riverbanks.
The times and ways of worship have
changed. We now have furnished sanctuaries, choirs, and modern technology to
accompany and support the service and preaching. Our churches can provide youth
programs, new forms of worship, and programs for Christian and secular life.
The Bible reminds today’s Church of
its fundamental purpose: to value and boldly proclaim the saving message of
Jesus Christ. You need to properly handle the Law and the Gospel; warn everyone
about sin, and at the same time proclaim the forgiveness and true peace won by
our blessed Savior.
Will you attend divine service this
Sunday? Although today’s participation does
not demand sacrifice, we can still control our attendance. Worship will take on
new meaning for you when you experience it according to The Word of the God of
love.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, motivate my heart to listen and respond to the preaching of your Word in the Church. Amen.

Todos oraban y se reunían para partir el
pan
Hechos 2:42
En los tiempos del
Antiguo Testamento, los sacerdotes cumplían sus labores en el Templo,
sacrificando animales, rociando sangre y
quemando holocaustos. Era un trabajo difícil. Los primeros clérigos cristianos ministraban
bajo condiciones primitivas, a lo largo de los caminos y en las riberas de los
ríos.
Los
medios y los tiempos de la adoración han cambiado. Ahora contamos con templos
amueblados, coros y tecnologías modernas para acompañar la predicación. Nuestras
iglesias pueden proveer programas para la juventud, nuevas formas de adoración,
instrucción para la vida cristiana y secular.
La
Biblia le recuerda a la Iglesia de hoy en día su propósito fundamental:
apreciar y proclamar con audacia el mensaje salvador de Jesucristo. Necesita
manejar correctamente la Ley y el Evangelio, advertir a todos acerca del
pecado, y a la misma vez proclamar el perdón y paz verdadera, ganada por
nuestro bendito Salvador.
¿Asistirá
a un oficio divino este domingo? Aunque la participación de hoy en día no
demanda sacrificio, todavía podemos refrenar nuestra asistencia. Pero el culto
tomará un nuevo significado para usted cuando lo viva de acuerdo con La Palabra
del Dios de amor.
Oración: Espíritu Santo, motiva mi corazón para que escuche y responda a la predicación de tu Palabra en la Iglesia. Amén.
