GOATS and SHEEP

MATTHEW 25:31-46

“I assure you that when you have done it for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you have done it for me.”

Matthew 25:40 (CEB)

In any of today’s societies there are people who suffer hunger, thirst, that don’t have a roof over their heads, are naked, sick or in prison, and we do nothing to transform their situations. Sometimes we ourselves are the ones found in any of these situations, and we have not received the help of a generous hand either. This has made us feel very bad. Jesus says that only those who have practiced love for God and their fellow humans will be able to enjoy His Kingdom. What will that Kingdom be like?

The reign of God that Jesus preaches, that he loved and believed in is different from the forms of government that organize today’s societies. Today the Church lives and celebrates the Kingdom, a reality of which there are already signs among us, but which is not yet possible to fully enjoy or live. Jesus calls us to get involved to make this dream of God a reality, that he compares to a mustard seed, yeast, a hidden treasure, a pearl of great price, a Kingdom that grows discreetly but is worth seeking.

Prayer: Sovereign God, thy Kingdom come. Amen.

CABRAS Y OVEJAS

MATEO 25:31-46
