YOUR SMILE IS LIGHT

Matthew 5:3-16

“You are the light of the world.”

Matthew 5:14a (NRSV)

In a world which travels through different types of problems, Jesus has given us the task of being light that illuminates those places where despair, sadness, and misfortune are revealed.

How can we be the light of the world?

I think that it is neither with a spirit of defeat nor living life with long faces, as if we had no hope in our hearts. The Gospel is pleasant and joyful news that God gives to humanity and that lives in the quality of the brotherhood of believers in such a way that it radiates peace, love, and joy; it is happiness that conquers the sadnesses that come in our lives.

“A smile costs less than electricity and gives more light.” (Scottish proverb.)

Most people who come to our communities do so hoping to find comfort and a helping hand. A warm smile of welcome could be for them better than medicine.

Prayer: Lord, may my life reflect your light. My my happy and smiling work transmit that light to those around me. Amen.

TU SONRISA ES LUZ

Mateo 5:3-16

Vosotros sois la luz del mundo.

Mateo 5:14
