PRESCRIPTION FOR RECONCILIATION

II Corinthians 5: 5-18

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation;

2 Corinthians 5:18 (NRSV)

            “It’s not easy,” is a description of reconciliation in popular lingo. Nevertheless, the book written by Pastor Daniel Izquierdo invites to dive into it with certain criteria and a full bibliography to deepen the matter. Let’s reflect on this criterion: “Similarly, it is not possible to initiate reconciliation if a primary cry is not addressed—coming from within or outside—calling for encounter and dialogue.” (Page 170, paragraph 2)

            Unfortunately, there aren’t many Cubans who “analyze, investigate, and draw their own conclusions,” as Reynaldo Taladrid has long been inviting us to put into practice. We take conflict lightly and there is a tendency to offend, disrespect, even yell and not listen. Those who accept Christ as our Savior, Redeemer, and Guide, through the Holy Spirit, know that there are powerful tools of a spiritual nature. The last chapter of the book invites us to build up love (p. 186). That love can spread similar wings to those of Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr., and an infinite number of faithful humans who are followers of blessedness. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” (Mt. 5:9)

 

Prayer: Our Father, let every conflict we must face be nuanced with your Love which empowers us to be wise and be reconcilers. Amen.

RECETA PARA LA RECONCILIACION

“Y todo esto proviene de Dios, quien nos reconcilió consigo en Cristo, y nos dio el ministerio de la reconciliación”.

2 Corintios 5:18

            El tema “no es fácil” en lenguaje popular. Sin embargo, el libro escrito por el pastor Daniel Izquierdo nos invita a “bucear” en ello con criterios propios y una amplia bibliografía para profundizar en el asunto. Reflexionemos en este criterio : ““De igual manera ocurre con la reconciliación: no es posible iniciarla si no se atiende a un clamor primario-venga de dentro o de fuera-que llama al encuentro y al diálogo” (pag.170, 2do párrafo).

            Desafortunadamente, no son muchos los cubanos que “analizan, investigan y sacan sus propias conclusiones” como desde hace tiempo Reynaldo Taladrid invita a poner en práctica. Tomamos a la ligera un conflicto y hay tendencia a ofender, no respetar, incluso gritar y no escuchar. Aquellos que aceptamos a Cristo como nuestro Salvador, Redentor, y Guía a través del Espíritu Santo sabemos que hay poderosas herramientas, de índole espiritual. El último capítulo del libro nos invita a construir el amor (pag. 186). Ese amor puede desplegar alas similares a las que hombres como Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., e infinidad de seres humanos fieles seguidores de la bienaventuranza “…felices los pacificadores porque ellos serán llamados hijos de Dios”( Mateo 5:9).

 

Oración: Padre Nuestro permite que cada conflicto que tengamos que enfrentar esté matizado con Tu Amor que nos potencia a ser sabios y reconciliadores. Por Jesú£s. Amén.
