LET’S PRACTICE JUSTICE WITH LOVE!

Psalm 106:3-4, 35-37, 40

Happy are those who observe justice, who do righteousness at all times.

A thought of the North American Baptist Pastor Martin Luther King, Jr. states, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” What is justice? How do we understand it? What are our practices in defence of justice?

Our sacred texts contain a strong note in defense of social justice and a focus on the most disadvantaged. God’s actions always go toward the rescue of the dignity and full life of those cast aside, set apart, excluded, marginalized, and impoverished, doing justice for them.

Modernity has manipulated the meaning of justice, placing it in the wrong hands and turning its back on God. The Christain Church has the duty and more the burden of practicing justice through love, such that its proclamation of the good news is sustained in the daily practice of mercy, of equality, of inclusion, of the shared table . . . of justice with love.

Let’s commit ourselves to living this practice of justice which summons us to love deeply as a demonstration of the values of God’s Reign among us.

 

Prayer: O God of all justice and love, we go gratefully into your presence praying for our world and its understandings of justice so far from you and your love. Teach us so that, enlivened by Jesus’ teachings, we may practice justice with love as the core of our faith life, in your son’s name. Amen.

¡PRACTIQUEMOS LA JUSTICIA CON AMOR!

Salmo 106:3-4, 35-37, 40

¡Dichosos los que guardan el derecho, los que practican en todo tiempo la justicia!

Salmo 106:3

Un pensamiento del Pastor Bautista norteamericano Martín Luther King, Jr. expresa: “La injusticia en cualquier lugar es una amenaza para la justicia en todas partes”. ¿Qué es la justicia? ¿Cómo la entendemos? ¿Cuáles son nuestras prácticas en defensa de la justicia?

Nuestros textos sagrados contienen un fuerte contenido en defensa de la justicia social y la mirada a los más desfavorecidos. La acción de Dios va siempre al rescate de la dignidad y la vida plena de los descartados, apartados, excluidos, marginados y empobrecidos, haciendo justicia para ellos.

La modernidad ha manipulado el sentido de la justicia colocándola en las manos equivocadas y dando la espalda a Dios. La iglesia cristiana tiene el deber y además el encargo de practicar la justicia desde el amor, que su proclamación de la buena nueva esté sustentada en el ejercicio cotidiano de la misericordia, de la equidad, de la inclusión, de la mesa compartida... de la justicia con amor.

Comprometámonos a vivir esa práctica de la justicia que nos convoca a amar profundamente como muestra de los valores del Reino de Dios que entre nosotros está.

 

Oración : ¡Oh Dios de toda justicia y amor! Agradecidos vamos a tu presencia rogándote por nuestro mundo y sus comprensiones de la justicia tan alejadas de ti y de tú amor. Instrúyenos para que animados en las enseñanzas de Jesús podamos practicar la justica con amor como esencia de nuestra vida de fe. En el nombre de tú hijo. Amén.
